Has anybody done an offset wheel with the tires out past the fender? I can't find any........

Don't care if it will rub, looks good! :D

Uh... There's a reason you won't find any pictures of such here. I'm at 1" which IMO is about the max you should go. 1-1/4" maybe.

I've been thinking about either a different offset or maybe spacers. If nothing more than to give my mall cruiser a little wider stance. It just looks a little narrow in the wheels.but I've also worried about excessive wear and tear cause by making the tracks wider.

excessive wear is a myth Ford, Chevy and dodge people believe in.

I remember in the 90's when I had my 82', 85' sr5 pickups, I ran 10" and 12" wide wheels at one point. I have never in 20 something years of having toyota 4x4's with up to 42" tires... Never, ever, have I desroyed a wheel bearing or steering componets ... Thank you Mr. Toyota! :grinpimp:

I think rubbing would be the least of your worries. This question, coupled with the 3" body lift question has me curious.... What are you trying to do with your 100?

make it look better.. :p DD, mild offroader, pull an RV... I dont plan to alter the suspension, that is why I asked about a body lift. largest tire I would run would be 305... Do I need 3" of lift, no but I prefer more lift than most people...

I had 16x8" +12mm offset wheels, the stock offset is +60. They definitely stuck out, truck handled great on stock tires. Went to try and upsize and 33" 285/75/16 BFG ATs rubbed more than my 35" 285/75/18 Toyo MTs. Enough that i had to take the tires off because I was hitting the fender just on compressions on the highway. So, 3" body lift and 2"+ wider wheels on OEM suspension to tow an RV? You sure you own a 100, sounds like you own a domestic full size. ;)

Would a BL have corrected your rubbing issue?
I currently have an 80, looking into the 100 or 200 series...

It seems like every other 100 series in Angola has wider rims or backspacing that stick out .5-1" past the fenders. They put on the 20's with wide rubber - for looks. These 100s generally do not appear to be lifted. I don't know what it does to fender wells or how much it would rub offroad, but they pretty much all have the wide stance going on.

In other words, things may rub if you stuff the tires but clearly it is doable because everybody does it here.

I have always liked a wider stance and added stability....

Added stability? If that's the case, then a 3" body lift is not what you want.

I have a 2" on my 80 now. I have had body lifts on every 4x4 I have ever owned. They're great, make getting to tranny bolts a breeze.....

You do realize most body lifts do not effect COG as much as a suspension lift?

A body lift only raises the body off the frame. A suspension lift moves everything higher in relation to the COG....
Not saying a suspension lift is a bad thing at all, just different in relation to stability.
