This is a home made trailer. Needs some cosmetic work, good as a starter project/trailer. I have used this trailer twice for hunting trips to colorado.

The box is constructed with 14ga steel. the box is 48" wide and 60" long and 28" tall. The basket on top has 8" side to it and is made from 1" squar tube.

Has 30 gallon water tank with 12v pump for water delivery. Pump delivers 2.2 gallons/min at 35 psi. Has 2 marine deep cycle batteries with 1200 watt power converter and two bank on board charger. Comes with solar panel for charging batteries while in the field.

Trailer has 3500# axle with Cooper 285/75/16" Cooper A/T tires with 80% tread left. Axle is a 5x4.5 lug pattern with a 6x5.5 wheel adapter to run the Toyota wheels.

Comes with the 2 5 gallon gas cans and mounts. Has the tow eye and pintel/combo hitch for the tow vehicle. Combo hitch has 2" ball. Trailer also has 2" receiver hitch on rear of trailer.

Trailer has LED tail lights with 4 wire flat connector, all lights are in good working order.

Would like to get $800.00 for the entire package or trade for a good condition 5'x10' utility trailer. Just do not use the trailer as much as I would like since I have a child on the way. Have way more invested in this trailer just need to get a utility trailer for now. Trailer is located in Houston Texas. if you need more pictures can email them.

whoa....that's a great deal.

Wow what a steal!!

Don't worry....I bought it and the seller sold it out from under me....nice guy.

So you bought it and gave him $800 and he sold it again to someone else?? Am I reading this correctly?

Trailer sold this morning, guy made an appointment yesterday to look at it, liked it had cash right then. Never received money from John on this forum.

No, I did not send money yet. Was awaiting paypal instructions and he was getting another shipping quote; after telling me it would be $180. I didn't pay him yet but we had a deal and I wanted to pay.
Whatever....Um not gonna waste my time on it. The only thing that pisses me off is that I sold my trailer at a loss because I was in a hurry to get the money for this one. I got hosed...pure an simple.

Further....my guy hasn't picked this one up yet but I'm still selling it to him because that's the deal I made. That's how I roll. End of story; I'm gettin more angry as I write it.

I'm actually curious about this alleged deal. If John made wingshooter a specific offer to purchase the trailer and that offer was accepted, that is a legally binding and enforceable contract regardless of whether it is verbal or written. The fact that payment hadn't been made yet is irrelevant. Payment in exchange for the trailer would be the performance of the contract, not the creation of the contract. If an offer was made and accepted, and then the trailer was sold to someone else, that constitutes breach of contract, for which John may be due compensatory damages for the loss he is taking on his trailer.

However, if there was no specific offer made, and by specific I mean something to the effect of - I will pay you X dollars plus shipping costs for your trailer - and/or there was no acceptance of the offer, then wingshooter acted totally within the law.

Why do I care? I don't want dishonest people using this site, especially not the classifieds section which I will very likely utilize at some point in the near future. Nor do I want an honest person being made to look like a dishonest person by a disgruntled potential buyer. I don't know which of these two cases is fact, but it is in the communities best interest to know.

To be specific...yes, I offered to pay full price and the $180 in shipping. He wanted me to pay it (including the shipping) directly to him and I was awaiting a final price and paypal address. He confirmed that he was verified there because I didn't want to send $1K blindly.
He was going to do some additonal stuff to it and email some pics. I went so far as to say forget the pics; just give me the payment info.....then, no word.
I called and emailed....and then got an email indicating he sold it because someone showed up with cash.

Now, I get the ease of sale thing....I mean, the guy had cash in hand! Also, the seller says the shipping charge somehow jumped to over $400....hmm. Frankly, I would have paid that or driven there for that trailer but that shipping charge is dubious at best. However, it doesn't matter because I wasn't given that opportunity.

So, I'm steamed about it but what can you do? The worst part is the loss of money (and use) of my current trailer. I'm not gonna weasel out on my deal.

Again, nothing can be done about it and I'm not going to sue the guy. But, it has already made me very leery of doing deals here and in fact, I've already put a potential one in the tank over it. I gotta get past feeling burned from trusting someone on the web....at least I still have my money though....or at least most of it anyhow.

Thanks for the good detailed info John. I probably wouldn't sue either, unless we're talking about a high thousands of dollars loss on your trailer. I've been in a couple deals where I got hosed and had grounds for a small claims case, but I think our country is far too "sue happy" as it is. Good for you for being the bigger man.

That being said, unless wingshooter can come up with a really convincing counterargument I believe he should be banned from the site, IP banned if possible.

With 6 posts, I doubt he's concerned about his rep. His counter will likely be along the lines of....cash....such as it is.

Trailer was listed on other sites along with Craigslist. received email form the person who bought it on 10/4 said "I will take it consider it sold. Will be there to pick it up 10/5 at 8:00" He did not make it for 8:00, so at 11:40 I listed it here on this site as I figured he was not coming. When I got home that night I got an email from him saying he was still coming by on 10/6 at 8:00 to pick it up. I called him at the number he left to call him. I called him back and he said he typed the wrong date on the first email. He said he was coming to pick it up in the morning. When he showed up on the 6th like he stated he bought it. So it was not about the cash, it was about timing and a mistake on his and my part. I am sorry for you being out the money and use of your trailer. If you would like to contact me via PM or email we can work out the shortage on your trailer if you would like. I am not out to screw any one.

We've communicated and we're cool...I won't speak for him but I'm OK. Frankly, I'm sorry I aired it out as much as I did but I was pretty pissed to lose some money but also because I missed out on a cool trailer. My wife and kids were looking forward to using it on our next camping trip.
Anyway, I don't think he did anything to deceive so I'm ok. Sorry for all the drama....let's move on!
