Yeah it's a real shame. That place is 20 minutes from my door and I've never bought anything from them.

I am not actively looking for an LV, just a general interest, ya never know. I am a firm believer in something is only worth what someone is willing to pay at that particular moment in time. That is why auction is used to determine value in many instances.

Very true

Wow, bad experience?

I was fortunate. My interactions with JTO only involved poor communication and a lack of respect for the customer's time and never a loss of cash. Lots of "We'll price that up and call you right back" stuff to the point you finally toss in the towel and go shop elsewhere. Other stories on MUD take JTO's lack or service to a new level .... most of it revolving around people waiting ridiculous amounts of time for items to ship if they ship at all, all the while either having no communication or a bunch of made up stories. MUD has a decent sized library of JTO stories.

Wanted to buy - telescoping mirrors for windshield hinge for a fj40. Anyone have some local to Charlotte so I can go doorless?

I know I have at least one set I'm not using because I just pulled them off... I might have more. I don't envision a topless future for my 40.

I need to find a 4 speed flywheel inspection cover. Have a like new powder coated 3 speed cover.... Useless to me.

The 4 speed cover should look like this :

Wanted -

I'm looking for an '06-'08 4Runner to replace my '07 that was recently totaled. I prefer the Sport package, but would consider a Limited. Don't want any more than 150k miles, would like to have less though. It must be a 4WD with the V6.

Any 80s you like yet Jamie?

Try looking at a gx470. same chassis, more goodies, less miles, better maintained, and same or less money

Two more cylinders are better... Lolo

I got my 2008 gx470 less than a month ago, and I've put almost 3k on it. it's an amazing platform, specially for longer distance driving. when I don't get crazy with the happy pedal, I average 20 mpg.
I looked at the 4rs of the same vintage. Didn't really like the dash layout, and most were poorly maintained. The typical lexus owner goes to the dealership for everything, and it's all documented. there was less than a 1000 in price difference. For me, it was a no brainer. found one with 121k, full documents, timing belt, water pump, tensioners, radiator, and front and rear brakes, all recent.

I have to agree with Stevezero here. I tell anyone who will listen that our GX470 was the best vehicle we ever owned. I REGRET trading it in for a Prius - so dumb. I was SO SURE my Wife's business would REQUIRE a Prius, which it has not, yet :)

Three MAJOR downsides to the GX470s:
1. Rear bags, but can be converted to Heavy 4Runner OME springs (Joe is the expert on this)
2. Swing out rear door - - some may find this a positive - not me.
3. Lack of "aftermarket" off-road stuff compared to the 4th Gen

Upsides:
1. Overall ride and feel and finish
2. Taller Cab - more headroom is awesome - perhaps the best of any Toyota product

Stan -Thanks for asking!

I have liked a few, but we are in the middle of a major car swap-out situation. Something needs to be sold before we try something new.

We would be looking for the "best value" in a FZJ80 - including a relatively built one, or a quality lower cost one (i.e. $500 needing a new radiator hose :) would also work)

I am looking to sell the 2015 Prius or trade for something like an AWD Matrix or a Toyota Pickup or Tacoma. This will open up assets for other purposes.

We also have decided we can not own both the 4Runner and a FZJ80 - so the 4Runner will have to go. We are not "sold" on selling the 4Runner yet - frankly. There is a thought we simply downsize our equipment vs upgrade our vehicle size :) We are not getting a lot of interest from the Kids in doing the family camping thing anymore, so we have plenty of room to do a Wife/Me or Son/Me or Daughter/Me trip vs 4x People in the car together.

The "End State" is the following:

FZJ80 - Purpose for Overland/Club Events and also for 7 seats when family visits.
Prius V - Wife's Car / Business Car
Pickup or Tacoma (kids will drive except for the weekend when the parents take over for projects )
Commuter Car for me for work (Corolla, Matrix, other)

I used the 3rd rows 3 times in 12 years in the 80 series. first thing to come out of the gx was the third rows

I thought I'd use my 3rd rows all the time, but I didn't

I'd be hard pressed to say the best i've every owned is....... in many ways it was the 80, no nonsense, go just about anywhere, comfortable.
Downsides not quite long enough for me to camp in, very underpowered, lack of parts at local stores in a pinch, terrible MPG.... most of those could be fixed with an engine swap.
Over all it did what it was supposed to but didn't make a good DD due to the MPG.

Overall my black camaro was the best i've ever owned.
500+HP, drove smooth as silk... still got 28-29 mpg highway. Very fast, handled great after a few mods. Fit my tall frame great.
Did what it was supposed to and made a great DD.

Bolt lock works with Toyota key ,only 98 up . Bought then found out it will not work with 80 key . So if you have a 100 or newer this will work for you

Asking 20.00
