We use to get 19/20 on the highway in our 2003 gx. One of the best vehicles we have ever owned. Should not sold that one.

Damn that's a good deal.... that's one I plan on getting one day for the 6.5 TD
I wish I could run it on Moonshine, but it's just too big around.

We've gotten 20 on one tank in Emma's truck - trip down east w/ little traffic and lots of 65mph (55 speed limit). Gotten 19 on many highway tanks. Usually more like 17-18 when pushing 75 on hwy and 15 mixed (most of what she logs). To advertise it gets 20mpg is a bit misleading, I must agree.

The SB may be a good fit then... smaller but big enough to feed a 6.5 also draws air from the PS fender so a snorkel would be easy to fit up to one. And has 2 clear sides to the box to be able to check the filter visually.
I took some better measurements this time around and found a different UMP air filter housing that will work within the engine bay without major surgery. I'm going to go with a paper element, not a K&N style element. That looks nice though!
The thought crossed my mind to carve a big hole in the hood, but I don't think I can bring myself to do it![]()
