We use to get 19/20 on the highway in our 2003 gx. One of the best vehicles we have ever owned. Should not sold that one.

Damn that's a good deal.... that's one I plan on getting one day for the 6.5 TD

I wish I could run it on Moonshine, but it's just too big around.

The SB may be a good fit then... smaller but big enough to feed a 6.5 also draws air from the PS fender so a snorkel would be easy to fit up to one. And has 2 clear sides to the box to be able to check the filter visually.

Time to think outside the box. :)

We've gotten 20 on one tank in Emma's truck - trip down east w/ little traffic and lots of 65mph (55 speed limit). Gotten 19 on many highway tanks. Usually more like 17-18 when pushing 75 on hwy and 15 mixed (most of what she logs). To advertise it gets 20mpg is a bit misleading, I must agree.

If one is looking at the center gauge cluster for those numbers, they're off / known to be wrong.

I've tracked every tank of gas in mine since I bought it via spreadsheet and adjusted exactly for tire size. Best I ever got was 18.7mpg on a long road trip.

Window sticker is 14 city / 18 highway. I can see getting 19-20 here and there, such as a long stretch of 55-65mph. But to state 20mpg is what it "gets" (as in, bank on it) on the freeway is either due to ignorance of the console number accuracy, or a lie. The outside temp number is wrong too (mine by 3-4*).........

I took some better measurements this time around and found a different UMP air filter housing that will work within the engine bay without major surgery. I'm going to go with a paper element, not a K&N style element. That looks nice though!

The thought crossed my mind to carve a big hole in the hood, but I don't think I can bring myself to do it

you can order with a paper filter, its most likely what I will do and then find a good donaldson that fits

Good on finding a UMP

Ran into a local guy at the grocery store with a 2004 - 120k miles... Wants to sell but doesn't know what it's worth. A good opportunity for someone that's in the market for one - send me a message if you want his contact info.

I am working on a deal that may include a 1993 Dodge Cummins 6BT, motor only, anyone have any interest in buying it?

just the motor

Oh gotcha. I would like it, but I don't need another 6BT sitting in my shop right now. GLWS!

hmmm at some point I may be interested but that is way too far off for me.... think i'll build the hell out of the 6.5 first

Only reason i'd want to go cummins is the sound... a 6bt just can't be beat.

Just motor? No accesories? Long block and head

The entire motor, front drive accessories and harness

I took the 44 over to Cape Fear Pick-n-Pull over the holidays and ran into a dude that said his boss had a Cruiser he was looking to sell.
He worked for Peerless Overland. I couldn't find what I'd been looking for at the Pick-n-Pull, so I had a bit of extra time so I swung over.
Apparently, these are filling a vacuum left by Dr. Aaron and the GB4x4 Land Rover Defender debacle some of you may have heard about.

Anyway, I figured I put up picks of the old girl and you all could do with them as you saw fit.

The man said he would take $4,000. Do with that, what you will.
