As many of you have seen, I have been back and forth on whether or not to keep my 40. The situation is that I have not enough room to store everything and the 40 doesn't get used much. I have tried to sell it outright or trade for a boat, but I guess the market for wheeling rigs is pretty slim right now.

I have decided to take it down in size to recoup some cash to pay for the repairs on my backhoe and hopefully make it smaller for the garage. Maybe if it is smaller and easier to drive on the road I might use it more.

If anyone is interested in pumping there 40 up substantially, we need to talk. I have a killer SOA setup with tires that I would trade for a SUA lift and tires and can give you as much as you want to complete the install on your rig.

Go for it :cheers::meh:

I started you down the road on your engine build I might as well do the same on your suspension. :grinpimp:

Rear leaves wouldn't fit, would they?

jC

Honestly, I'm not smart enough to know. His set up is the direction I want to go but for the tires. I'd planned on 35's but otherwise, I'm planning on the SOA, high steer, shackle reversal.

I'll have to do some homework before I get myself into something too extensive. Thanks for pointing that out...:beer:

I would need to keep my rear 55 springs and you would want to keep your rear 45 springs. The 45 springs are a special length just for the pickups. To go SOA on yours, I would remove 2-3 lower leaves and see where your bed is. Much easier than trying to source a set of proper length stock springs only to have them negative arch in 1-2 years.

Everything else should be GTG!

I really want those 37's. Want to trade my 70% tread 35x12.50r15 old school MTR's plus cash for that wheel and tire setup?

EDIT: Actually, thinking about it more, the tires probably have less wear than that. I've been running them for 1.5 years and have probably put 6000 total miles on them, mostly highway miles. I've been to 4 wheeling events and the truck sat in the parking lot at school for the majority of the year.

Sent you a PM.

Bushwacker Fender Flares

Just located another 40 part I had stashed away in my apartment in Charlotte. It is a brand new set of Bushwacker Fender Flares I had bought a couple of years ago from CCOT. Never got around to installing them before I sold the vehicle. If there is a club member that has a 40 and plans to use them, I'd be glad to let you have them. We can either arrange pick up or you can pay shipping and I'll send them to you. Ed

Speaking for a 40 owner in charlotte, Brett, he will take them. I just called him but he is away on business and cannot post up. I'll pick them up from you.... I owe you some beers anyway for those wheels. :grinpimp:

damn

I missed out again... oh well anybody else have fender flares?

Anyone have a set of 4 1" or 1.5" wheel spacers they're willing to part with? Need them pretty soon.
