Got some time in the roof top for the Easter long weekend. I cut an old camping mattress to fit on top of the Baroud mattress, and then wrapped them both in a Mini Jumbuck wool mattress topper. I must be getting old because goddam it’s a game changer, so comfy.
Pretty tight fit in there with all the padding though when closing the lid! #worthit
Epic setup now, will do a couple little overnighters with the kids this week, pumped.

Another great trip to Merus Adventure Park over the long Easter weekend.

Got some pinstripes this past weekend on a night ride on a tight portion of the trail. Some fun 20-25 degree off camber stuff. Fun times.

Sunday pop top tent removal, after hours of trial and error and high school maths and physics put to use!! I’m ashamed to say how long this took me to do this, just stood there looking at it before drilling holes for like 2 hrs one time haha!
So the method:
Drive car in, raise AHC suspension, loosen off the ropes and loop / put over both ends of tent.
Lower AHC suspension. Drive out. Lower tent.. store. This is all done solo because I have the 4:1 block and tackle in the middle.
That’s then on a dolly with wheels, easy to move around. Extremely proud of myself…

This was probably one of the best trips I’ve been on. Highly recommend Death Valley even if it’s a 16 hour drive. First time doing fast desert stuff and I loved it.
This was the result of a guy blasting around a blind corner, being too bunched up as a group and his buddies not calling out oncoming on the radio. No injuries, but FOUR totaled rigs including a poor guy just working in the middle of the day and a ruined trip.
