Looking good. I am gearing up to do LC rocker panel and Slee sliders myself. Where did you source the rocker panels? Been trying to find the cheapest source. Was it difficult to swap them in?
Same questions here... do they clip in? Did they come pre painted?

Looking for adventure. Had a great time out in the desert during the epic snow storm in SoCal.

Put to work towing through a blizzard

Got to stretch out AHC Long Travel. Nevermind the noises - just a tire catching a screw in the mud flap with the longer articulation.

And only 3 tires lost within the group.

curious is it possible to repair that sidewall damage assuming you dont have a spare tire?

soecs on tire? any fender mods?
Falken Wildpeak AT3W LT295/70R18 on tundra TRD rims (+60) on spidertrax 1.25” spacers. I removed the mud flaps behind the tires that cover the front of the rocker/steps and a 4” flap below the bumper in front of the tires. Heat gun on the fender liner and trimming a bit of rocket clearanced the rest of the space rear of the tire but I still have some rub in front. I need to look under to see if there is a way to move the mounting of the front most part of the fender liner to clear another 1/4” and then I should be good.

Well, Merc didn't have a spare. And didn't have any tow points...

To your question, yes, to a point. Each tire actually had 2 gashes from a pinch flat hitting a rock. The front tire had gashes probably .5" wide and I was able to stuff 3 to 4 plug cords and get it to hold about 20psi and leaking down really slowly. You can just see the plug job on the front tire near the top.

The rear tire had no hope with gashes about 2" long as pictured earlier.

Highly recommend a tire repair kit. Proper AT tires. And a spare. These 21" street tire had no business on the trail.

Thanks! Swap literally took about an hour. Very easy. As for sourcing them, my brother has an automotive shop so I used his account at my local Toyota dealer. I paid about $350 each. I think you can find similar deals online honestly.

Just finished the sliders tonight. Wasn’t overly difficult either, but the instructions are lacking some details and good pics (my opinion only. Others seem good with it). However, the Slee Sliders look amazing on the rig.

Looks awesome!. I know there is at least one very good install thread here on MUD. Some folks probably had some augmented instructions by following those threads.

No. But you could order the Pacific Blue from 2008. It’s much lighter but at least you start out blue.

That's just my envy coming through of wishing i had a coastal azul mica lx.

I have seen a couple of repairs on big gashes like that where they used some type of wire or heavy fishing line and sewed it up then stuffed with plugs. Had to air up often and definitely not street driveable but got them off the trail.

Then promptly went to the overland expo to get some wheelin in. All good til the very end when the limits of articulation on a LX with a sensor lift were exposed. I was very impressed. I miss my 62 and 80 much less now😂.

Baby steps! Replaced the LX570 side steps for LC rocker panels. I was happy to find that the color match was virtually perfect for silver. The Land Cruiser color code is 1F7, Classic Silver Metalic, and the LX570 color code is 1F2, Mercury Metallic. I've included a couple of shots of a rocker panel next to LX570 body panels in different lighting for reference. Very happy with the look. Took less than 45 minutes total for the swap.

Next phase will be Slee rock sliders. Wife isn't happy right now without a step to get in.

Land Cruiser rocker panels in silver are 75850-60040-B0 and 75860-60040-B0. Still priced around $320 each, out of state, with $97 shipping and tax. Locally dealers wanted $500 or more each. They lost my business.

Looking good! Luckily for you, you don’t have door trim. Mine is a 14 so when I pull the door trim off, I’ll have to get the holes filled out and painted.

Just a heads up, don’t forget to pull the rubber grommets out of the frame and plug them into those holes in the bottom of the rocker cover

Thank you! It is unfortunate they mount the new trim pieces with screws.

Looking good. Looks like you have the front mud flaps on as well - are those unique to LC (I think so), or are you able to reuse the LX ones? If the former, do you know the part numbers?
