Snow run… these Toyo AT3 are atrocious, it’s incredibly disappointing. They have chunked considerably all over and show no comparison in the harder packed snow to Ko2s or ridge grapplers.

Anyway still a fun day, was able to get up to 11k feet.

I don't want to derail the discussion into another tire thread, but that is the first real negative feedback I've heard on the AT3's, particularly the chunking. What size are you running? Thanks for sharing.

35/70/17. I may have been quick to judge. However, the chucking is significant, I’ll grab some shots today if it. It could very well be the 40-50mph runs through rocky trails. I’m just comparing them to previous experiences with other tires.

I may be an anomaly and I get that…people love them, that’s why I grabbed a set.

Since it’s a picture thread…

Haven’t done a whole lot with my LX lately except drive it. Dad life is taxing. Lol but did like the sunlight kissing it while waiting for my coffee yesterday morning.

I've seen chunking on mine too. I partially chalk it up to running around on really sharp granite rock in the Joshua Tree and Big Bear regions of CA. Part of my problem had been rubbing the tire shoulder on the rear fender lips but that's been corrected with rolling of the fenders.

I'm not sure if I can characterize it as too much yet as I saw it on my Falken AT3Ws as well? I'll have to take a closer look at my buddies KO2s next time as they've been through the same things, but I do think they have an edge there as they use a harder compound rubber which may be part of their trade in other uses.

I have yet to be in really heavy snow to comment on that.

Living vicariously through your pics!

Have you done a BMC? I’m on method 701s at 25mm and there is barely day light at the body Mount. I’m surprised you aren’t rubbing like crazy at 18mm.

No not yet. If totally compressed and turning at full lock (off-road) it’ll rub the body mount a little. Sometimes depending on what AHC is doing it’ll rub the tiniest bit at full lock when backing up. But going forwards I don’t rub at all.

So I took my family across the English Channel to visit some Overland Bound members and drive some trails on the Salisbury Plain. Took the Chunnel under the channel and then stayed at a campsite near Stonehenge. We were going to camp but they had these little Hobbit Hole type cabins that were cheap and ended up sleeping in there. We drove the area around the Plain and visited Stonehenge a couple of times. Definitely an amazing journey for us!

Would not have expected a Jeep Liberty of all things, let alone two, to be a part of that group. Bizarre.

Looks like an awesome trip. I am always impressed by the amount of stuff you've managed to fit on your rig.

Do the Tko sliders fully cover the ahc components? Have any pics showing that area?

the metaltech lx570 sliders completely shield the ahc components on the frame rail. They are heavy though.

They do, along with having plating underneath that shields the components. I don’t have pics but I can grab some.
