Apparently prinsu doesn’t recommend unsupported awnings because the side rails are so thin 🤷🏻‍♂️

I called Prinsu support and asked for their advise on which bracket to use... theirs, OVS's or a combinations of the two. The guy I spoke with never mentioned anything about the awning being too heavy for the rails and I told him exactly what I had and what I was planning on doing. Now, there's a ~20lb difference between the OVS 180 and OVS 270... maybe that's why? I dunno.
I can tell you that it's up there pretty darn solid using the supplied OVS brackets (which are beefy lol). I'm not worried about it.

Prinsu w/ 270 Awning - mount AluCab or Eezi Awn - https://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/prinsu-w-270-awning-mount-alucab-or-eezi-awn.1244612/post-13711485

I believe the strength concern, but reality is leaving an unsupported awning unsupported is a really bad idea unless there is no wind, no chance of rain, and you are perfectly level.

The advantage of these types is one person setup. I don’t have one so assume I’m a random idiot on the internet, but I can’t imagine it would be a big deal to leave one unsupported for five minutes while you walk around and put the legs out.

welcome to the club!
A lot of us have BBS and have been looking to get matching spares. You wont have any problem selling those things ;)

Here's some black on black inspiration:

Man, talk about goals. That setup looks awesome! Where was this pic taken? That looks suspiciously AZ-ish. I don't plan on building out quite that much so I'll be listing the wheels this weekend. They're brand new takeoffs with <100 miles on them so I shouldn't have an issue getting rid of them (hopefully).

And since this is a pic thread, here's a pic from this past weekend at the Mogollon Rim outside of Payson, AZ. The main road to here is easy but I was shocked how smooth this platform is on somewhat washboardy fire roads. Coming from an old school lifted Jeep YJ, it is laughable. Performed flawlessly, even on the skinny Michelins.

I love those wheels! I’m sure you shared but what are they?

Thanks! They are Diewe Wheels 2LX 17x8.5 45mm offset forged wheels. They are made in Germany and are literally the only TUV approved 17" wheels I could by for my LX and I love them as well!

Ha I'm a doofus. I saw "DE" and thought you lived in Delaware. Turns out "Wiesbaden, Delaware" is not a place.

Just doing my husbandly duties this weekend. Picking up wood to build a fence. Sure, I could have taken my 3/4 ton. And for sure my trailer was buried in the yard behind two cars, one non-running, but there is just something about a Cruiser pulling a trailer that brings synergy to my soul.

Haven't rolled any of those fun milestones yet on my rig, but my Volvo V70 R has in its 257,000 miles...
