Oh yeah I've got a 12k lb Smittybilt X20 (I know, I know) winch on a Trail Tailor hidden winch mount. I haven't had to use it yet but at least it's there just in case.
Looks sweet and so low profile. Surprised she carries a big ol 12k completely within the lines of the stock bumper.
So many questions
1) Hows the weight feel up front? Usually there's another 100lb+ bumper associated with mounting such a thing.
2) Did you remote mount the relay?
3) Can you reach the release through the grill?

My question is how did @supercarrera get Trail Tailor to make it. I reached out to them and they said it didn't fit the 2011 yet... they still needed someone to bring them one to test fit on. Maybe @supercarrera can show them how you fit it so I can buy one.

Trail Tailor told me that he personally designed and fit the hidden winch mount for a 2012-2015 LX570. He said that he has had numerous folks offer their vehicles to test fit other model years, but none have come through even though there is a 50% discount. FWIW, he also said the LC is a niche and the LX is a niche of a niche, so not a lot of folks want one I guess except for us few.
Maybe one of you west coast dwellers can do me a small favor and leave your LX in Redding, CA for a week or so.

If I can get an early LX in the shop I will GIVE them the new designed mount for free. I need one day to do this. NO ONE has followed through with this...

1) The added weight of the winch is not really noticeable. I also have a second battery but I did also install oem spacers up front too.
2) I mounted the solenoid on the winch in typical fashion as the wires between it and the winch were pretty short and I didn't feel like modifying them. I had to grind a little piece of the grill support to make it fit but it wasn't a big deal.
3. I removed a couple of the horizontal pieces of the grill so I can get my hands in there to reach the clutch and control connector. The openings are hidden by the license plate. So I just have to remove that to gain access.

I ordered one last year but I felt the fitment was poor. So Jason and I worked together by estimating what adjustments to make to get the fitment to where it was acceptable. It actually fits my LX very well and hugs the bumper perfectly. I'm not really sure what happened but I guess the next guy that got a copy wasn't happy with it for some reason. I'm not really sure why because as I said, it fits inside my bumper very well.

Well..it’s embarrassing to say because I paid the hourly learning curve. The guy is a perfectionist and that is what I wanted since I couldn’t find anyone that had done any of this in the southeast. He definitely takes pride in his work and I highly recommend him. One man fab shop. He said the next one would be 1300. It is a lot of work to get it right. He also trimmed out the shroud in the engine compartment and rotated the clutch around so there is easy access from the top and fabbed some reinforcing for that sexy Lexus grill make up for some that was lost to the fitment.
Had a good time kicking up some dust with friends. Did this pretty epic hill both ways up and down. Pictures never do these things justice. Fun fun hill.
Black Rhino Wheels Stadium 17x8.5” +10
Cooper Evolution MT 35x12.5x17
Stock AHC with sensor trick up front.
BMC and plastic trimming
No rubs at normal driving height and full articulation.
Planning on stuffing a ratchet strap compressed and deflated full size spare in the stock location.
Yes, I have OBA.
OBA is "onboard air" - a permanently mounted air compressor, usually an ARB Twin Compressor, but there are some Viair hard mounts running around too.
Alas his front bumper was a private commission and for a long time wasn't on the market in volume. I believe they (CBI Offroad) have recently started selling a version of it.
