Fj Cruiser deals
There is a guy in San Antonio where I bought my FJ Cruiser who treated me very fairly. He did not add anything over MSRP, no scotch guard no anything that added to the price. If you are looking for a fair dealer you need to see these guys. I called him on the phone and we did everything without a deposit no BS no adds, ordered it and he had it for me withing 2 weeks. The customer service was very professional and when I went to the dealership, all of the paperwork was ready. I was driving out within 20 minuites. I told him I would send him some customers and advertise for him. I normally don't like car salespeople because of all of the bs that you have to go through to get a price and the car. If you guys or girls are looking for someone who will take care of you go see this guy. Universal Toyota-Shannon Witherow 210-654-1515. He is great.

Personally, when I'm ready to buy, I'll probably give CDan a call, ask him which salesman he likes and just get the FJ I want, knowing that I've dealt with American Toyota for years now, and will continue the relationship with parts for the new truck...

I am not paying msrp for a vehicle let alone 5K over it... this is typical though, the Ford dealers around here did this game for years with the loaded out crew cab superduties because everyone wanted one. They would tack on 4K to the sticker price. There was dealer 30-40 mins outside of town that would order you any truck you wanted, how you wanted it, for 400 over invoice take it or leave it. So you paid 37K for a loaded out F350 diesel as opposed to 43-44K in town. They made 400 on each truck as opposed to 6-7K.
MSRP at Fred Haas in Houston. I'll bet I could actually get a discount because they have been calling me daily begging me to come back.

I was going to walk in and walk out with an FJ Cruiser.
Instead I was disappointed as I have stated in previous emails. The dealer 3 weeks earlier could not even answer 1 thing about the vehicle, they suggested I buy a Yaris instead. Today I went to 2 dealers in Miami, they both have an "addendum" or a "market adjustment" added to their vehicles. What Toyota marketed as a vehicle for under 30K they sell as 4 and 5K over MSRP! Not only will I not buy it but they think we are ignorant enough to think they HAVE to charge that. You guys should go to www.ih8mud.com and see the postings about pricing around the country. They are charging 11k over msrp in Tampa dealerships. They are charging exactly MSRP in Charlotte.
So what is going to be Toyota? Over...under...

We provide a Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) for our vehicles; however the final price is subject to negotiation between the consumer and the dealership.
Because the dealership is an independently owned and managed franchise, and because the dealer is responsible for it's own retail transactions, our sole action on an issue of this nature is to apprise dealership management of your concerns and requests. Any further follow up or steps towards resolution will need to be initiated by either the dealership or you.

Has anyone ever bought a vehicle from a Signature Toyota Dealer? I only purchase through them and here's why...they only sell at MSRP. They never mark up their vehicles and they don't haggle. They do make their money elsewhere (allocated more vehicles, financing, etc) and they can always get you on interest and trade-in. This is a good thing if you are buying a hot item. Not good if you are looking to haggle. Toyota Corp has designated 46 of these dealerships in the US (8 in my state) in order to help improve its image with dealers and customers. I haven't found any documentation that specifically says these dealerships only sell at MSRP...just things that say exceptional customer service crap. It could just be a big rumor that 6 different salesmen for 2 signature dealerships have told...or it could be true
I'm just sharing what I know...The first time was too long ago...but the second car I bought for MSRP 26K while others in my area were paying 32k. The FJ I bought for 28K w/UP2 and CQ. I also go there after I've secured my own financing and have sold my other vehicle privately.
