Minnesota:
Burnsville Toyota = MSRP / Two left from original shipment of six (having "difficulties" selling the 6spd manual)- expecting 8 more in the next two weeks.
Southtown Toyota = MSRP / Only one one the lot.
Toyota City = MSRP / Sold all four they received.

Checked with several dealers in Arkansas and Missouri, and was quoted MSRP on all. It might have had something to do with telling them upfront that I was not going to pay over MSRP. The worse thing I have found is that the dealers are loading them all up with all the options, thereby making even the MSRP really high. Almost everything has been $30K to $33K.

Just so happens I found a dealer that is getting a black one in between the 17th and 24th that haden't been spoken for. I put $500 down to hold it, if I don't like the color I can order one, but I will have to wait two months to get it. The are giving me $100 of MSRP. This is the best deal I could find. Everyone else wants MSRP, if not more around here.

Some of them are saying that initially. But look at all the Atlanta-area dealers and you will find more than a few offering at MSRP. They talk that game initially, but hold your ground, and at least a few will come around to MSRP.
A few of the dealers were offensive in their overall approach - the good news is if you don't like them, you can take your business elsewhere!

If some dumbass pays it then they will keep it there. It's like the whole X-Box 360 s*** over the holidays!
test drove it last night and both of the ones that thompsons has in placerville are 5k and 6k over msrp, but they had a lift......must be an expensive labor charge, cause the lift only costs about $600. the worst part is that two suckers bought them already for the asking price.....if you ask me, it is just a Rav-4 on steroids....

OMG! I was up at the local TOY dealer the other day and they had a FLC with a tag in the window with a price of $34,999. It had running boards not sliders. I thought Toyota created the cruiser to target a certin market class of people and they were going to sell the cruisers from $22,000 base to about $29,000 loaded. Gullo Toyota is marking up the price way over MSRP.
This evening I was leaving Kroger and I spotted a FJC in the parking lot so I got out to just look and the owner walked up, we talked a little about the cruiser and I asked him if he had locking diffs and he replied that it was a 4x2 and then he paid 30 somthing thousand dollars for it. This is outrageous!!!!! I made the comment that the msrp for his 4x2 FLC should have been around $22k - $25k and he said "I orderd mine 6 months ago and try to find one here for under $30k and they are only making 40 thousand of them." So what market is toyota trying to target with these over priced FJ40 wanna be's. I would rather buy a real FJ-40 for $30k. You people paying $30k plus for your FLC are getting ripped. Well that is just my 2 pennys.

30,000 plus for a 4x2 is quite absurd. He must have got alot of accessories to jack the price up like that. Even though the FJC's are reasonably priced at base, it is very difficult right now trying to find ones that are stripped down. I ended up getting one with an upgrade package that I didn't particularly need but went with because I am wheeless right now and if I didn't I would have had to wait months. I figured I would have spent the same amount of money on a rental car if I waited that I might as well put it towards the FJ.
I am happy to see that some dealers are doing the right thing. If anyone here has bought a FJC call your sales person and ask the what pounder was your deal. In the car sales world pound means thousand. so if your sales person says your deal was a 4 pounder then that means they made 4 thousand off of you now the sales person only gets 20-25% of the gross sales over invoice. Also the reason sales people push lease's is because they make more money for a lease. Well I would never buy a FJC in or around Houston TX. The Dealer I was talking about is Gullo Toyota in Conroe Texas. F'n Jerk offs
It is so sad this the dealers are trying to take advantage of the FJ like this. Most of the dealers around the country are not even a good support or customer service of the cruisers they were selling. Toyota is truely a great company but the US dealers are out of control. I would like to replace one of my cruisers with a new FJ but I will gladly wait for the craziness to be over. The best thing everyone can do is just not buy them at the crazy price, I know that is tough for some to do but we would all end up with better prices, and maybe teach the dealers a lesson. I have talked to some of my contacts at Toyota USA and begged them to step in and get the dealers to be resonable but they will not do it 
I am making a personal protest and I will wait a while, who knows if I wait long enough the next model year will be out and I am sure it will have some other goodies on it.

Im willing to wait awhile ang get one the way I want.I also refuse to pay msrp.I saw something another site that showed dealer cost versus retail cost and a average equipped FJ at msrp has approx 4 thousand dollars of profit in it.I refuse to give a dealer that much off a new car.

More than likely, you're not seeing the whole picture. Dealer cost vs. retail cost numbers posted rarely include actual numbers. What you're seeing is all smoke and mirrors. Dealers can get all kinds of manufacturer incentive - up to and including extra allotments and even 'free' or manufacturer subsidized vehicles. You hit the dealership at the right time, make the best deal you can, and the dealership could end up making THOUSANDS more than a paltry $4K. Finance through a dealer that owns a bank at a high rate and you could end up giving the dealer $10-15K or MORE.
Then again, you may end up paying MSRP and the dealer might end up eating the deal, and the salesman might only get a mini, rather than a full commission.
Don't believe everything you read about how much a dealer 'makes' on a deal; the only people who really know how much a dealer makes off a sale are the accountant and the owner ... and he's probably living in a very nice house with a very expensive wife and/or mistress, and has very, very expensive tastes in toys. You're going to be contributing to his bottom line no matter what you think you're not doing.
Don't go into a dealership thinking you're going to walk out of the dealership without them making a profit; that's a sucker play, and you'll end up being exactly the kind of goof the F&I guy wants to see ... the uninformed buyer. Know your product, know what you're looking for, know how to figure payments if you're financing, and know when to walk away. That's the ONLY way you'll get the deal you want.
