Haven't been able to find a replacement pump for my late model - '79 and later - washer bottle pump.

Has anyone found a bolt in replacement anywhere that's more powerful than the stock unit? If not, I might be able to fit an aftermarket pump in with epoxy, but trying avoid that.

Thanks for any thoughts.

Believe it or not.... I found an aftermarket pump here locally at Autozone for $15. I kept the org bracket / mounting and just slid the new pump in. Worked great and was simple. Have you checked locally?

Here is a screen shot from their app with what I got that worked.

No idea about performance compared to oem because mine never worked from PO.

I rarely use it, but it sprays the washer fluid on the windshield.

For me it is more of "I want all the functions on my fj to work more than anything". ie check it off the list of things to fix

I could probably adjust the aim of the nozzle for it to perform better.

I got one of those from NAPA the other day trying to get mine to work. It seemed to be decent quality, but the impeller shaft wasn't long enough (mine's a '74 and I was going to have to modify it).

Thanks gents - I ordered one from Autozone and will give it a try.

Michael - what's the trick to removing the pump from the mount? Mine is currently soaking in PB Blaster.

It has been a while since I did this fix so can't really remember, but I recall it being easy.

I can pull mine out in next days and snap a pic
