Without going to the toyota dealership, Does anyone have a resource for getting toyota part numbers for my 77 fj40. I want to look up my own stuff and shop around. The dealer has there sacred computer program that they wont share.....

cruiserdan on here knows alot of what your looking for. many dealers offer OEM parts - sor.com,coolcruisers.com, man-a-fre.com

search onnnnnnnnnnn

http://www.toyotapartscheap.com/

Check this site. You can't get the part numbers but you can dig down and find most items.

There are by far the cheapest I have come across.

Cruiser804, I clicked on your link and then clicked on "mechanical catalog." When I scrolled down the "year" catagory list of years, it only went back to 1980. How would JP2ME seek parts there for his '77 FJ40?

Hit Ebay, and purchase some microfilm....and then purchase a viewer....that is about all you are going to find, unless you find a real parts book for your year...

Good luck!

1st Toyota parts has a similar search engine and they seem to be a little cheaper than the link above. However 4x4poet makes a good comment in that the search engine only goes back to 1980.

I purchased the parts microfiche on CD ROM (PDF files) for US model land cruisers from about 1969 through 1998. I purchased this from someone either on this forum or through the LCML (I think this was what I purchased: http://www.woytovich.com/cruisers/fiche/). There is also someone that is supposed to be posting similar information on a web page, but that page is currently unavailable: http://tlcfiche.dyndns.org:8080. You can also find the microfiche on CD for sale on ebay.

find another dealer...

my toyota parts counter lets me browse all of there computer parts diagrams....

they will print off copies of the screen so I can use them as a reference

they have even faxed me a diagram of a part that I was rebuilding

best thing......

they give me a discount on my parts

and offer same day service on most parts if ordered by 8am.....

I usually just call the dealer before work, and my goodies are ready to be picked up around 5ish
