OEM lights, yet again.

Also, I know the HID has different colors of light. Looking for a super bright white or slight hint of blue if the bright white color isn't avialable. Trying to stay away from the yellow color of light though. Thanks.

OEM equipment is okay but aftermarket is much better. Sounds like the HID is what I'm wanting. I guess I'll do 2-3 pairs of lights depending on the price. Not real picky about the looks just want something that I can go cruising down the trail at all hours of the night while looking like its daylight out in front of me. I'm in no hurry to get them, just sometime in near future before it starts getting too cold yet. Hit me up with a price and payment. Hopefully you do paypal.

I'll need to check (if there's a way on a box or the lights), but the Hella HID's I have are "driving" lights and not "fog" lights. These would be more suitable, IMO, for blasting down a lonely highway/interstate than a hairy trail.

Also, I am not sure if there are many major aftermarket aux. lighting companies that offer higher than 4300-5400 K color of lights in their units. You can buy the burners/ballasts that put out 6000K and beyond, but I have not seen any (not that I've been looking hard, but) aux. lights that have that high of color out of the box. But as usual, I could be wrong. :D

I've checked my Koito HID's (also driving) and they are 35w/D2S (so are the Hella's) and at least the Koito's are 4300K. So I "think" if you want the whitish color with slight blue hue/tint then you might want to purchase the lights from somewhere (doesn't have to be me, of course;) ) and purchase aftermarket burners. If you want fogs, then I'm afraid I cannot help you though. ;) If you want the maximum brightness, then you should stick with 4300 K or thereabouts.

I've just checked Hella's site and the part number (1F5 008 273-041) matched up with my lights, saying that they are "driving". Rally lights (http://www.rallylights.com/hella/ff1000.asp) list "pencil" lights as well and I'll post a pic of the FF1000HID beam pattern (not sure if it's driving or pencil, but I'm guessing "driving").

Anyway, you may (or may not) decide that it is close to what you're looking for. I don't know.

Anyway, let me know if I can still help. I will be able to handle any orders for another week before leaving for about a month for the US.

Let me know!
Thanks for your interest.

I like the Koito lights in #133, I'm sure that is what your refering to. Let me do some more checking around and I'll get back to you. I think I would be more happy with something around 6,000-7,000K.

Both FF1000's and the Koito's are driving lights and I would not mind unloading all of them.

Let me know what you find out and make me an offer that I can't refuse. ;)

I'll have a decision made here in about 2 days. I'll get back with you. BTW, what would the unloading them all price be and how many pairs do you have? I have some buddies here that I might be able to talk into getting an extra pair or two off your hand.

I have the following lights available:

-Koito SDB-160D HID (driving, new) on #132

I'll PM you with prices.

Thanks!

I've decided that I'm going to do a custom fabrication route. I'm going to check into the neccesary globe pattern/ position of the bulb in the housing and fabricate my FJ62 to run 2 sets of the HID lights through some fairly stock headlight housings (low and high beam). It will look factory but noone else will have anything like it that I know off. I've already done some math to figure out the amp draw is going to be 11.7 amps. The fabrication to the back of the housing should be fairly easy, I've done alot of fabrication projects before that have turned out awesome. Hince the profile picture of the engine. That went into a Chevy S-10 that screams down the road I use as a partial daily driver. Any chance you have just the ballast and bulbs laying around? I know yours is at 4,300K but I'm thinking maybe one set at 5,000K and another around 7,000K. There won't be any shortage of light coming from my front end. Haha :) Any thoughts or something I'm missing?

Sport,

No problem with your decision of not getting the lights from me. ;)

I do not have any extra ballasts and stuff around.

Your best bet for getting good feedback/answers would be a forum like hidplanet.

Good luck with your project. I'm sure you'll do a superb job!

Thanks for the link, I'll have to keep them in mind. I've found some HID kits online but they are only $200 and the ballast seems to look way to cheap to be an actual ballast for a HID system. I'll keep you in mind though if I don't like what I'm seeing.

Good luck!
Let me know if you change your mind.

Also, please let me know if your buddies would be interested in these lights, too! :grinpimp:

what's left?

Mot -

Just looked through the all the postings and was wondering what is left...? I am looking for a set of the yellow / amber with the "Toyota" guard on it. Like post 98? Any available?

Emmett

Sport,

I've only had one graveyard shift/work while I worked at Suzuki one summer when I was a college student. I don't envy you one bit, but it was kind of cool, too. :D

Emmett,

Good to hear from you!

The amber ones are still available and I "believe" that those are the only amber ones of that type left, new or old (those are used, but in good condition).

I'll ship them to you slowboat $225 or you can pay the difference and go (express) air.

Thanks for your interest!

Mot does it again. :D

You gotta love Kioto fog lights. :grinpimp:

Apologies

I meant to reply and thank you sooner, but I forgot. :frown:

Your rig looks pretty dang good with (or even without:D ) the fogs.

It was my pleasure doing business with you and I REALLY appreciated your patience.

Thanks again, Wes!

Yours,

Mot
