I have a pallet of about 1100 of them, and they appear to be an excellent filter. The bypass valve has the proper opening pressure and is located at the far end of the filter. The filter media is plentiful, and appears to be high quality, though I have no test data to support it. The anti drainback valve is a simple rubber unit, but is very thick and looks as though it will do the job better than many. The gasket is a round O-ring just like Toyota, instead of the cheaper square ring used on lesser filters. The base plate and canister are made of very thick steel - most USA aftermarket filters are quite flimsy in this area.

I'll sell you a case of 10 for $12.00 + shipping. :D

In reading the discription at E-bay. These are equalivant to the old big style filters 15600-41010 which were original equipment for the older trucks (22r/re), all the older cruiser untill 95 when they switch to the smaller filters. The big filters are still around if you ask the right person. later robbie

They did not begin life as $1.20 filters, these filters originally sold at retailers for around $4 - $6 a couple of years back. Autozone or Pep Boys was a big carrier of them. I theorize that they were actually priced to high for a new and unknown brand, and thus failed. Why buy that when you can Fram for $3.00? Fram is good, right? :D I'm not in the mob, but the price was probably close to what the mob would pay. I have pictures of the disected filter should anyone want to view them.

haha -- fram is good if you're collecting their nascar-filters -- one for each driver -- just tell me if you get the gold king richard -- :)

I use the 004s in my 80s (I have like 35 of them) and Wix in my Civic -- we're getting up there in age -- I need to do all I can to p-r-e-s-e-r-v-e what we've got -- ;)

Hahaha.... it is really too bad they let that filter line go the way it did. I cringe when orange appears.
