So a bit over a week ago I got the trifecta of lights in my 2013 LX - CEL, flashing 4LO, "TRAC OFF." Read the codes and got P0128/P0125. That's thermostat or temperature sensor from what I read. I had just had the coolant replaced, so I made an appointment with my mechanic for next week to potentially check/swap out those parts. Then I cleared the codes and they just went away and have stayed off since.

Today, several hundred (admittedly city street) miles later, I drive over a railroad crossing and the flashing "4LO" comes back, but no CEL or "TRAC OFF." Drove to the local convenience store for coffee, parked and turned the engine off. Restarted the car less than 2 minutes later, and no 4LO light. No codes. 20 miles driven since then, including a drive over the same railroad crossing. Nothing.

Is this just the grumblings of a 9+ year old vehicle with 130k miles?

Thanks

The dash can light up with unrelated warnings, just to get your attention. The codes seem related to the coolant work, so I’ll guess you’re on the right track to have the mechanic check that work. Is the expansion tank and radiator still full?

Thanks for the replies. Battery is new as of spring and shows just below 14. The expansion tank and radiator are both full. Still no new reoccurrence of the light(s) and no codes.

This sounds familiar. If. you see it again, check out the threads on knock sensors and rodent damage to the wiring harness under the intake.
