Really don't want to do this but I don't have much of a choice. When I lifted my hard top back on to my 40 the fiberglass cap separated from the rain gutter along the whole left side. The right side is bent as well but hasn't separated like the left, yet. The shop which did the restore on the top assured me the "high strength" glue they used would hold as well as the rivets I supplied. In short, the glue failed and now I need to find a new shop to repair the top since the other shop closed when the owner retired. In order to pay for the repairs I need to sell the soft top first.

Enough of the woe, on to the soft top. It is a black canvas OCD Beetle soft top and includes the OCD Beetle bikini top. The top has not been torn or other wise damaged and there is still some of the plastic protective coating on the inside of the rear flap. I never got around to installing the turn buttons which keep it secured. It is in as close to a new condition and I can make it.

The bow kit from Real Steel was quite rusty when I got it from another forum member and I took it to a powder coating shop and they cleaned it and coated it a shiny black. Their job was flawless.

I had to order the hardware kit from Julie for $99 and that is included complete. There wasn't any hardware for the bow kit and I got that as well for $67 which was a rip-off. I also purchased the clamps for the rear of the tub and they are included as well.

That is all the good so here is the not so good. The canvas top has some mildew as does the bikini top which was never used. I also didn't get a chance to waterproof the top since I didn't take it out in the rain, that was on my to-do list for the winter. Nothing major, just in a few places and can be dealt with.

I am asking $2000 for the entire package plus the ride. Another member here on the forum agreed to purchase but backed out just a little while before I started this ad. I only have one good photo of the top and it is below. Currently the tops, bow kit and hardware are in storage waiting to go to the next owner.

If anyone has questions I can be reached by PM here on the forum or at 336 eight zero three zero four three four.

I know that there are products that will take mildew out of canvas. OCD Beetle made some great tops. I usually don’t like non factory colors on an FJ40, but that is a stunning truck with that matching top.

BTW I added the mildew thing as an honest and fair addition to the ad. When I bought the top that was not discussed or mentioned and I wanted to treat the next buyer fairer than I was. The top had not been used or installed and I am the first to use it.

Is the mildew on the outside or inside of the canvas ? (Im assuming pics wouldnt capture it- but what size would you say the affected area is? Entire top or a specific area?)

Small areas mostly on the outside. Easily washes off with a garden hose.

I’ve got a black ocd top too. It gets a little mildew on it from time to time but like @David1947 mentioned, it appears to just wash off. I haven’t treated it yet but probably should with canvak or something.

Hows fading and shrinkage on your canvas top??? Any pics of it ?? (And how long have u had yours?)

There is a little fading but nothing serious. As for shrinkage, when the weather is humid the top stretches banjo string tight. But that isn't a real problem either.

How much are you asking for the tires sold separately from the wheels? I'm in Olympia, WA.

For what it is worth, my Trollhole soft top is black and over time got some mildew on the inside. I simply took it off the truck and power washed it. It mostly came off. Would have been better if I had treated it with some sort of mildew type remover.
