Mission accomplished! I can't think of a better way to see America than from the drivers seat of an 80 series.

Here are some stats:
3170 miles
6 days
13 tanks of gas
Highest coolant temp - 216F (75mph, a/c on outside temp 96 degrees long grade and a strong headwind in western South Dakota)
Generally, temps were between 181-191

PM completed prior to departure:
Koyo rad
belts
tstat
all fluids
Landtank blue hub fan clutch - thanks to AJIK for the quick shipment

Route:
NYC to Eugene, OR via I80, I90, with some diversions through the badlands and black hills, route 12 from the Idaho border to Pendleton OR, I84 to Hood river, OR, and finished off with some mind blowing national forest roads to Eugene.

Stops:
Day 1 NYC - Elyria, OH (475mi)
Day 2 Elyria, OH - Tomah, WI (558 mi)
Day 3 Tomah, WI - Murdo, SD (540mi)
Day 4 Murdo, SD - Billings, MT (550mi)
Day 5 Billings, MT - Pendleton, OR (701mi)
Day 6 Pendleton - Eugene (360mi)

Total number of 80's sighted: 5 - all in MT and ID

Just past Lolo pass - pictures cannot do this view justice. There were some significant forest fires as we drove through MT and ID, hence the smokey sky

Why and how for the two different licsense plates?

Just realizing how many different plates the truck is wearing in these pictures -
The two NY plates are the same number, just different styles. I lost the front blue and yellow one while mudding, and replaced it with my old blue and white one. I've never had a problem with the cops for them being different styles. The green US forces plate I picked up at a flea market in Maine. My girlfriend thought it would look cool (and I guess I did too) so I stuck it on after leaving NY.
Eventually that lost its novelty, so now the front is raw dog.

welcome to oregon!

great pics. That propellar pic is crazy. Imagine driving that rig.... Would love to take my 80 on a long road trip.

Funny you took a pic of exit 0. I just saw that myself last weekend driving up to Chicago and thought how odd that was. Great pics.

Welcome man!

Glad to see ya made it I think I saw ya at the 76 on the corner of 29th and Willamette over the weekend. Funny how the old NY plate looks allot like the old OR yellow and blue plate.
