We moved here about 2 years ago from Alaska and I have yet to get into any good wheeling since taking up residence here in Bentonville, AR. I know there is a ton of stuff near Cass and Hot Springs however, I am looking for some good places to take the kids for some good fun wheeling (nothing requiring lockers and 37s) here in NW AR, SW MO or NE OK. I will be taking the LX in my signature, btw.

Thanks,

Josh

Can't help you much, as I moved from Fayeteville 4 years ago. I bought my cruiser there, and really didn't get into them until a few years later. Is there anywhere near Devils Gulch, or whatever it is called to the South of Fayeteville to 4 wheel?

Disney, OK. I hear is nice, I have never been there.

Ozark National Forest -1.1 million acres, 25 minutes south of you. PLENTY of trails around the Boston Mountain and White Rock ranger stations just south of fayetteville. I used to go down there twice a year for 3 day trek trips. There's plenty of wheeling that is kid friendly and scenic to boot. Most of the trails can be run with 33s and open diffs if you use finesse and bypass the larger obstacles. I've run them with groups ranging from open diff CJ7s on 33s to SOA locked FJ40s on 37s- there's something for everyone.

$20 worth of topo maps will give you weeks worth of exploring routes. I've still got my maps marked out with known trails and obstacles, so pm me if you decide to check this out and I'll point you to the better areas.

I've heard good things about White Rock. I prolly take a trip down there this weekend just to scout it out. I appreciate the offer MOfj40. You will have a PM shortly.

Disney OK is a good place to go for a day trip. There are some good trails through the woods. You can also spend quite a bit of time watching the rock crawlers taking on some of the rock formations. I managed to mess up my front bumper last time I was there when I dropped into a water filled hole in the bedrock.
I too would love to know more places to wheel around here.

I might be heading to hot springs the beginning of the year (2-3 weekend). You are more then welcomed to tag along if you want. It has a lot of great stuff and sliders is all that you really need to have a good time there.

heckler,

please let me know whe you are going to make a run down there. Would love to tag along!

Welcome to Arkansas! You need to check out the Green Country Cruisers.

We are a TLCA club with several members in NW Ark, but most live in the Tulsa area. There is a very relaxed monthly meeting in Tulsa, and members get together for wheeling all over the area.

I live in Fort Smith, and have a simularly equiped LX and Fj40.

I'm going to be relocating to this area from KC, in the next couple of weeks. Looking forward to it! Just glad I have a job now, that no paycheck thing was starting to wear me down. Justin

hot spring orv is a killer place to go, i live outside of littlerock and we usually just hit power line roads in west littlrock for some easy fun, or hit a friends hunting lease.

There are many places to run close to your neck of the woods. Lots have been hit upon. Get involved with a club in the area. Green Country has members in you area as do Razorback Landcruisers. Here is a short list of places

Disney,
Byrd's Adventure Center of the Ozarks - Camping, Canoe the Mulberry River, Mountain Biking, Rock Climbing, Adventure Racing

SWFWDA Oktober Trailfest Trails, Clayton, Oklahoma

D-Day Adventure Park - Home

Welcome to Flatnasty

Washita Trails Motorcross

Superlift Off-Road Vehicle Park at Hot Springs, Arkansas · www.orvpark.com

Kansas Rocks Recreation Park

SMORR, Southern Missouri Off Road Ranch - Home

You can also check this out if you looking for a club to run with.

AR/MO- Ozark Mountain Cruisers - IH8MUD Forums

The more folks you can hook up with the better you will be on learning about the area. Lots of great places to explore.

My uncle helps run Razorback Landcruisers. I recomend them. He wheels an 80 and a 40.
Check the link in my sig for some info about disney.
I have all kinds of pics loaded on myspace for disney. (myspace.com/lifelessfab)
I can have fun all day long on 31's and lockers.
We run a CJ8/40/80 and my mini, with tires ranging from 31's-38's. Hot Springs is beautiful, but quite a trek from me and you. Disney can be a 45min trek for me and roughly an hour and half for you?

Hit me up sometime, if you wanna wheel!

Kinda long drive for you, but the Bayou boys go wheeling in NE Louisiana at Catahoula Recreation in Sicily Island, LA. About 45 minutes south of Monroe. Rocks, long trails, some mud, scenic overlooks.

CHeck the BSLCA forum.

Cass/Whiterock area is good for some exploring (huge area), but you can get into narrow ATV trails quickly if you don't know where you're going. Probably 1.5 hours from Bentonville? Also, I hear that some trails have been closed, but not necessarily marked as closed. Up to $500 tickets for not using a map and figuring out which ones are open and which are closed.

Disney's a good place to go. 1.5-2 hours from Bentonville?

just outside Devil's Den State Park (not in the park) has a little wheelin (not much), but I'm a little unclear of the legality of it.

Hot Springs is great, but kinda far away.

I live in Fayetteville and am a member of the Green Country Cruisers.
