Not sure Clint, could be an outsider!

OK, guys and gals, this trip has been on the books for officially a year now, so you've had more than enough time to think about it!

This will be a great one for some forest road type easy wheeling, great scenery, and the perfect one for kids!

Do a search for last year's trip and you'll see some of the items on the schedule...

I feel sorry for whoever that is. :p

Forest Road 192 is a good drive and makes a loop off of Roseborough Rd north of Edgemont area and south of the parkway.

Brian,
Do you want to add it to our website or has Joe been handling that?

Guys I have to bail on this one..great aunt turns 100 on Saturday the 13th and the family is having a large get together....Joe call me and I will get you money for the site.

Congrats to your Aunt on that amazing milestone! Wow! Don't worry about the money Greg, if someone else wants to squat they can halve it with me, else Jacob and I will just enjoy the space.

You should see if you can get her on the Smuckers bottle during the Today Show. That would be cool.

Short info session on Lake James. I had a conversation with Clint, that I thought was in the public forum, and never brought it up here.

Lake James is a walk in campground, so no pulling up and unloading, or sleeping in your rig. You've got a decent little hike to get your stuff to the campsite, so I'm thinking Lily's wagon will be doing some double duty this weekend. That said, the views are great overlooking the Lake!

Gate closes at 8, however I've got an email in and will call tomorrow to see if I can get the code/combo to come and go.

Schedule:

Friday: Most everyone's arriving at various times, PM me your specifics, and I'll try and schedule the day accordingly. Dinner is own your own. We'll look into some Forest Roads somewhat nearby. Adult beverages will be consumed.

Saturday: Hiking, waterfalls, or Table Rock. Whatever the consensus wants. Early dinner (eating at 5), Keefers will be frying a turkey and some other "Thanksgiving" fare. Feel free to bring a side/dessert if you want, but we've got the turkey, potatoes, corn, and stuffin' muffins. Brown Mountain Lights at dark, back by 8, adult beverages will be consumed.

Sunday: Brown Mountain ORV driving.

We could switch Saturday and Sunday's events, except for the light viewing...

Forecast: most days in mid 60's, nights in the upper 30's, clear except Saturday has a chance of showers (30%)

BK

Addendum: Park gates close at 6PM now that it's November. So if you're going to arrive late, carry your FRS and someone will come and get you.

If the gate closes at 6pm, can we come and go? Sounds like we might have trouble viewing the Brown Mountain lights if we're locked in. :frown:

I will be coming in on Saturday, unfortunately I won't get out of work on Friday until really late.
