Does anyone know if they'll have an open seat? I'd like to get out but the 4runner doesn't even like gravel roads with all the tools in the back of it. I'l even ride with Crash if he keeps his weiners to himself. Which might be as hard for him as Burl staying shirted. Thanks, Ryan
I have a back seat availble but you need to bring some rope to tie youself in . i dont have rear seat belts

i will either be in TN wheelin at Golden Mtn, or at the Cove for a small group trip..

hi guys.
i'd like to see the trail done if Feb (the ticket's run) but no tickets. i figure:
a) it's the only 'event' (even if not a club event) of november so driving to h'burg not sooo bad
2) seems there's a view which will be nice while eating (see post #19)
taskers was fun, i'd do that again, but other than the separate and not-on-trail firetower, there was no view at all in the lunch-time and beyond positions.
I'll review the posts by others recapping, but as far as a plan:
0) ryan, i should have a front seat open, at least 1 of my boys is coming, the other may have a school event that day, awaiting the final word from the wife, so front seat will be open
1) meet up for breakfast. if it's a 2 hr drive to h'burg from nova, depending on the 'trailhead' time, it may or may not work - i've never done this trail, how long should we estimate the actual trail ride takes? then let's work backwards.
2) trail food: i was serious about the pulled pork and my wife's beans, so we'll come up with a list of what's being brought at some point so those that want to stop for lunch can collab/contribute.
3) the trail mentioned seems mild enough that it should be a low stress can't-see-why-not type of trip to make. landmarks:

"Since everyone is coming down from NOVA I would recommend meeting at the Sheets on 33 just west of the 81 exit (or Cracker Barrel if you want to come down this far for breakfast).
The ride through H-burg via 33 can be a bit tricky if you have never done it before"
can anyone describe the trailhead location from either landmark above?
any feedback on trail length/time would be great. i'm normally up for meeting at o-dark-30 before hand, but i now have to work the night before, so i won't start smoking the pork shoulder until at least 11pm, so i may not finish until 6-7am.

Seeking higher vistas
The store pictured is the Ottobine Country Store, located at the intersection of State Road (SR) 613 and SR 257. Ottobine is a small community southwest of Harrisonburg, and Ottobine is west of another small community named Dayton.
Here's a Google map of Harrisonburg. Look to SW on HWY 42 to find Dayton. Ottobine is west of there.

Here's an excerpt from the previous (February) thread:
The Waggy's Creek Trail head is about 1-2 miles from the Ottobine Country Store. The dirt portion of the trail is right at 15 miles in length. Going slow to enjoy the scenery, and occasional stops for the hill-top views, I estimate it to be 4 to 4.5 hours on the trail.
