Thats the Coolest  What a transformation, you can really tell you put alot of heart into this Cruiser, Fantastic job

Looking great!

Where did you get the rear slider window?

Looks like a good upgrade and since I broke my perfectly good rear glass :whoops: it gives me a good reason to go this route if they are available.

yes, the cover for the LS1 is from oz. Wanted something relatively unique here. Plus I like that it is one peice as opposed to the two peice corvette style rail covers you see all the time, covers more of the ugly that way.

Its too early to tell about the cut and turn. the front drive shaft is quite long, as the auto transmission plus adapters has it way back there. So I have reason to believe I might get away without one. Time will tell.

Nice most people take their covers off, they rekon it hold more heat so a little less power i took mine off my Clubsport for a while and i didnt notice any diff
im diggin your cruiser every time i go back to look at it again mate

the sliding rear window is also from australia. They get all the best toys down there! ;)

Thanks again everyone, I appreciate the comments.

What a GREAT job!!! You have to bring that out to a monthly CSC meet so we can check it out in person:grinpimp:

I will bring it to the meeting, but I have a few "issues" to deal with first. Death wobble, and hydroboost issues. I will get them sorted though. I was trying to deal with the wobble last night, I adjusted my alignment; I had ever so slight toe-out, and I made it toe in, but that made the wobble occur at very low speeds instead of around 30mph. So I will be re-adjusting adn puttign the smaller tires back on over the weekend to reduce some of the variables in the front end and see where I am at. Fun fun...

Awsome build, how did you find the window in OZ?

I found the window on ebay (back in 2005). I paid WAY too much for it, but I really wanted it, so it was one of my splurge items. The good thing about taking 4 yrs to build it is that you have LOTS of time to round up all the little parts that make it special. This one just happened to come early in the build. Then I had to worry about keeping it unbroken in my mess fo a garage for almost 4 yrs.

Yeah Phil, I got busy serious working on it over the summer. I like to wait until its over 105 to spend quality time in the garage; I think I am not too bright.

Actually, I gave up trying to work on it during weekends (mostly because my daughter would not allow me too) and started squeezing out an hour or so most evenings and occasionally took a vacation day during the week to work uninterupted. That made things move along much better.

Now I just have to keep plugging away at it until all the issues are resolved, then I can just drive the crud out of it. I already, in just the short test drives, LOVE the power of the engine.

there were a few reasons for shortening the bed: 1) the frame I had was a shortbed frame but the bed I had was a long bed. 2) I like the look of the long bed box better than a short bed which always looked to me like a modified 40 tub.

I could have just shortened the front (as I have seen others do), but I didnt find that visually pleasing apect ratio wise. Plus I intend to actually wheel it, so I wanted a pretty agressive departure angle, and the long bed in its original form is WAY too long in the rear so I made it what I consider visually pleasing, but still good departure.

Besides... why should the bed not get heavily modified like every other stinking peice of the truck. "in for a penny, in for a pound", that's my motto on this one.

Back when I first got started I photo shopped up what I wanted the end result to look like from a photo of another rig... here is what I envisioned. I think I did a not bad job of acheiving that.
