I swapped my good drivetrain into my good truck(fj62/3fe). And I recently noticed that the engine was sitting at an angle from side to side in engine compartment.the front of the engine seems to be closer to the drivers side than the rear, not much about 5 degrees. I undid the motor mount nuts underneath and the bolts were evenly spaced in adjustment grooves on frameside mounts. no idea what to do. Thanks

trans mount is good. was driving the truck the drivetrain came out of. had some trouble positioning engine originally because I pulled the whole thing at once and in the same way.

I'm not the Wagon guru, so I don't know if the engine was off-set 1" to the left as it was in the FJ40's?? If it was, then your front engine could be perfect, and the problem is in the rear mounting??? I would think your rear crossmember would take away all your choices--single set of bolt holes???

Just picked up a 79 fj40 and noticed that with the engine. Also will be e-baying the 40 tommorrow. but yeah no adjustment on tranny crossmember, and driveshaft seemss to be even with frame the whole way.

Will try prying right side in the a.m. Also was thinking maybe lifting front of motor because once I got the mounts in and crossmember up I declared victory without a second thought.

You can use a jack....but carefully.

The 62's are real well known for defective motor mounts.

if it stays in place and your motor mounts are good then who cares.

the engine is offset to the side just a tad as the 40's are.

:confused:They are...hell I never noticed.

Heck I forgot to ask does the fan hit the shroud or does the tranny not want to go into low gear(auto) with a little stress applied.
