I recently got a 92 FJ80 that had a cracked head. I just got the new one installed this weekend an got everything else back together. I am new to cruisers. While I have learned a lot reading what you guys have posted, I have not found anything that might help with a possible reason I am not getting fuel after putting everything back together. We have checked and double checked everything making sure we have everything hooked back up. Another odd thing that happened was when we hooked the battery back up, the alarm kept going off, even when inserting the key into the ignition. Not sure how we got it to stop. Regardless of that, we are not getting gas when trying to get it started. Any ideas? Many thanks.

We've got fire. And there's fuel pressure. We changed out the fuel filter with the one I got from CDan, same thing. Sprayed some ether and it would start, but no fuel to keep it going. Is there some sort of security thing we may have to reset?

Jon,
I came across a thread where you helped out someone who had a problem that could be similar to mine. I am checking the things you told him about as well as others. It turns out we may not have spark. As for the security. The PO gave me one key fob that has 2 buttons on it for the wireless door locks. And I have a Toyota suecirty button on my dash to the left of the steering wheel. Before the head cracked, the key fob would unlock the doors fine. However, when you unlocked the doors with it and opened the hatch first, the alarm went off until you inserted the key in the ignition. The PO told me it has always been that way since he bought it new. He always wanted to get rid of it, but was told he couldn't by a local Toyota dealer. When we hooked the battery back up for the first time in 2 months the other day, the lights flashed and the horn beeped and would not stop when we inserted the key. Kinda like it thought it was being stolen. That's what makes us wonder if there is some kill switch or setting that has been triggered that would keep us from being able to start it. I will continue to go through the checks you gave in the other thread. Is it ok if I PM you if I have a question or two?

Thanks

Sure, ask away.

There is really no such thing as a non-removable alarm, just people who are unwilling to do so.

It is possible that the security system is somehow wired to the EFI circuit, but now I'm just guessing.
