Good morning MUD!

I have stumbled upon what seems like a very rare spec of gx460. So rare, in fact, that I can't find any reference material that it was even available from the factory like this. My understandings and from referencing model brochures, forums etc, was the Nori Green colorway was only available with a blackline edition, which couldn't be on a luxury trim. However, please take a look at this model:

This is a luxury trim in nori green without the blackline package, as a bonus it also has the offroad package with MTS/CRAWL. It has black leather unlike the lighter grey in the blackline. Can anyone confirm or provide reference that this was a legit factory option? This one looks like it was in Canada before, but I was able to reference some canadian gx brochures for 2023 and they had the same options as the US ones. I'm decently interested in trying to get a nori green one, and would like to rule out this one being custom painted or something after the fact.

I'll bet it was a Canadian spec. What does the VECI label say?
I'll reach out and see if they could provide a pic of it. I haven't seen in person or anything and their photos are pretty limited. I did look at the Canadian 2023 GX brochures/info and they are the ones I saw were the same as US market ones. So, unless there's more info out there, still not sure how this was available.

Before you get too excited, validate with the dealer that it really is a luxury model. The way Lexus does things is a bit different than most other manufacturers, there's no publicly available VIN decoder that will tell you which trim packages were on any given car. Techstream/GTS can do it of course, but a Chevy dealer isn't going to have access to that.

What this leads too, and you see it in non-Lexus dealer ads all the time, is cars that are mislabled as either having no trim level at all, or the dealer spends five minutes making an educated guess.

I'll go ahead and spoil the fun. That truck has the split bench seat in the back. It's not a Luxury model.

That's good info on the VIN/Techstream. I definitely feel the struggle of mislabeled used GX's. Even bigger sites like carvana and carmax don't even let you filter the premium trim, so there are numerous mislabeled there.

I think you are mistaken on the bench seat though. Luxury trims can absolutely have non-captains chairs. I just test drove one at a Lexus dealer that was specced as such. There are some other key details about this one that indicate the luxury trim, the MTS/CRAWL is on this green one. The only way to get the MTS/Crawl controls on a 2022 and 2023 is if it was optioned with the off road package which is only an option on the luxury trim.

I hope it's really a luxury for your sake. That's my unicorn too. I am hoping I can find one of those in the next few years.

Generally luxury models will have the chrome window trim go all the way round the rear quarter windows, and from your photos, you have that.
Have you looked here at post #13: GX 460 Manuals - https://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/gx-460-manuals.1129713/
Also, having CC and MT is an easy after market add on that one wouldn't know if it was from the factory or not, so depending upon who the original owner was, they could have added both those features.
What of the following do you have?
  • Mark Levinson®, 17-speaker, 330-watt Premium Surround Sound
  • 3 climate zones
  • Heated steering wheel
  • Navigtion
  • and?
If you have all that, then you have the luxury/high end model.

I was told by my local dealer there wasn't any way to get a 22-23 Luxury trim without captains chairs. If that's not the case, apologies for the confusion.

I didn't see anything in the pictures posted last night that proved this truck had MTS/CC. If it does, yes, that is conclusive proof it's a Luxury trim.

Because of how frequently non-Lexus dealers mislabel these vehicles, I tend to rely on pictures rather than their description. If this one really is a Nori Green Luxury trim w/ off-road package, it a unicorn for sure.

MTS and CC are near impossible on the 22-23 models.

i just finished the paperwork on a 2022 and was talking to the dealer about this as I was searching for MTS and CC. the number of trucks that have it is in the 10s at most, from what i gather. there are luxury trims out there but they don't all come with it, i guess.

Being in Florida I could easily see it being a Canadian GX a lot of snowbirds from Canada are there now and getting ready to leave if they haven't already.

They have different models and options in Canada the Executive version is top of the line. Ask them if it has a cooler (cool box) in the front:

Toyota has been offering the cool box for decades, except for the US market. The only thing I brought back from the Gulf War in 91 was a full page Land Cruiser add from Abu Dhabi. Land Cruiser with an ice maker in it, so jealous

I should clarify - retrofitting MTS and CC on these is near impossible. I almost bought a luxury and wrapped it in Nori, but settled for the Nori BlackLine and still wrapped it in PPF.

Ah got it. The dealer I was working with gave me the impression they're just, in general, impossible to find. Even in my latest looking at 21s and 22s I only saw a couple with MTS, but since they're in Luxury only it was out of the price range i was looking to stay in

A '22 nori blackline just slipped through my fingers. one popped up on Long Island and it already had a deposit when I called

I have found quite a few do actually have the offroad package option. The problem is sifting through online adds to find them. Like mentioned by others, many non-lexus dealers mislabel these when selling them. I have found several that do have the off road package, but it's not listed anywhere. You can verify by them having the MTS/CRAWL knob on the left side of the infotainment stack rather than the DAC knob.

No worries! I just posted the dealer add, but I've been in contact and they sent me a quick walkthrough video where I caught the MTS/CRAWL buttons. So that's not apparent publicly.

If it is truly a Canadian model then it is the Executive trim. Should have 19" wheels too (ugh) but the US Lux off road package does as well. The Executive trim should also have the tranny cooler and full length fuel skid along with the MTS and CC.

If it really is Canadian then I would contact Lexus US and make sure they will do recalls for it when released. And verify warranty here but doubt that will be an issue. Still for that much money I would not take anything for granted. If I wasn't into my 19 to where I am currently at that would be the perfect GX. Nice find.

If it isn’t out of Canada it might be from Puerto Rico.

Not a US state build

Cool box should be in there as well

Solid info. I think you guys have nailed it. Going to try and contact Lexus Corporate to see what the implications are regarding warranty, recalls, etc. I'm almost certain that it is the executive trim now, which for all intents and purposes is the US luxury trim with all options and a cool box. Not sure how the AutoCheck Vin service is displaying it as a luxury or how that works. Definitely want to do some more confirming, digging, make sure all the dials and screens aren't reading Metric units haha.

There is some history stating it was imported and statements regarding passing EPA regulations. The odometer is currently displaying miles, so something has been done already it seems. More to come
