Just letting peeps know about our annual fund-raiser poker run on the Deer Valley trail near Lake Tahoe.

Here's the linkie Lake Tahoe Hi-Lo's Offroad 4x4 Club :: Home

It says "guided", but in reality we just post some "rock-rollers" at the more challenging obstacles.

It's always a good time, good food, good raffle. We are non-profit and proceeds go to local youth orgs, as well as groups fighting to save our trails. Hope some of you can make it.

I'll be the trail-master and prolly driving my gun metal gray snorkeled BJ70 so please introduce yourself if you go.

Thanks!

Hmm, I'd love to do this. How tough is it? I've got a 40 on 31's with a locked rear. No winch.

So, is it just a day run? Which direction are you running the trail?

Dude, it's just Deer Valley...that's where the FJ45s have their run. If the 45s can do it, you can do it.

We start staging rigs out of the Wolf Creek campground (approx 10 miles south of Markleville on hiway 4) at 07:00 Sat. and take the pavement back through Markleville and up to Blue Lakes where everyone airs down and runs the trail south to hiway 4. Then air up and head back to Wolf Creek. Dinners are served that evening and there is a raffle.

Most of the participants arrive Friday night, but some also show up Sat morn and join in after registering and getting the safety check.

And yes it is the same trail as the 45 run. There will be a couple times you'll wish you had larger tires, but you can do it.

bumpity bump

I have run Deer Valley No-South to the camp in a bone stock F-250. And no I did not take the new paved road.

In the past I also have taken a stock f250 from Blue Lakes to the second creek crossing. Not any more though. The section between the creek crossings has become more difficult.

Well, I think I'm in, gonna send off my form tomorrow, cya there.

Thanks! I assume you will be in a RHD? Were you at SNT last november?

I guess it's been cancelled. I was going with the 100 and my son's 51 Willys.

Posts: 10 I'm sorry to announce that the 2009 Hi-Lo's Poker Run has been cancelled.

Due to the fact that we were unable to secure insurance coverage for the event this year, the Board voted to cancel the run rather than put the Board members and club at risk.

Full refunds will be made and will be mailed out starting this weekend. Phone calls will be made to those who have already registered to inform them of the cancelation.

Some Hi-Lo's members will be camping at the same campground on the 14th and 15th. They are planning on running the Dear Vally trail on their own on Saturday. No dinner will be served and no toilets are being provided.

We will be making every effort to obtain insurance for next year and hope to see all of you then.

Again, sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused.

Yes I'm sorry to say it has been cancelled due to no insurance. I apologize for this.

But I (and prolly other HI-Los) will be there and are going to run the trail. It won't be an organized event, there will be no food, raffle, or main camp hosted by the Hi-Lo's, it is just a group of wheelers going on a run.

Anyone who wants to join us is welcome, but you are on your own for food etc..., just like a normal weekend of wheeling.

All entrance fees will be sent back, and again we are very sorry to cancel this event but we will have it next year.
