Been serching around the fourm for several hours now...I can't find it!! :crybaby:

Has any one put a winch into a non-winch ARB?

I have a used Warn M1200, but a non winch ARB. Iam trying to decide if it's worth the effort to modify the ARB, or buy a wench version ARB.

Iam going to go talk with my buddy Jason over at http://www.jkcustoms.com/ and see what he has to say.

Bring it on down to austin, and we can figure out both!

I thinkn there are some "ears" that the winch attaches too, inside the bumper.

SOLD to David for a Zillion Dollars!!

if I do decide to sell it, you will be the first on I call! :)

Hey I'd love to do some wrenching with another 'cruiser head, but I'll have to finish my front birfields first, she's still on jack stands.

But I'll come down when I pick up my rear bumper in san antonio. I'll need some help since I've never setup a winch, not to mention this one is a hydraulic. I'll keep you posted!

On that note of mounting winches. I bought my arb winch bumper model used so I got not instructions. How do the winches usally mount in the bumper, I'm assuming it bolts to the front skin of the bumper.

Sorry for the hijack.

It will depend on your bar. I have seen some that bolt directly to front panel of the bar and others that require a mounting frame. The bar I have (not ARB) has the winch mounted to the front panel. Usually there will be the 4 mounting holes there to use. If a frame is required there will only be 2 holes for the roller frame. Check the pic the 4 bolts you can see are what attaches the winch to the bar

Hey Mark, No need to bother Jason with that little project. I can knock it out for ya with my sawzall. Stop by in the morning and I'll do it while you wait. You don't even need to dismount, won't take me 5 minutes.

Lee :grinpimp:

Du hu..you said dismount! :flipoff2:

Ok - I'll be buy first thing in the am, is 7am too early to start drinking beer?

Yep mine has a few holes on each side of the roller which is why I figured it was how the winch mounted on the bumper. So from what I also understand, is that the holes are drilled for a warn winch, hopefuly mine will bolt up.
I think you will find most winches have the same bolt pattern.

Bummer ya sold it. I jammed an 8274 in my non winch ARB.
