*should read NEW nosels needed*

Hey guys
I've been comparing my cruiser engine sound to all my friends, mine definitely sounds rougher, a bit more agricultural, and rattly... Not smooth like some of my friends

I took it to a local mech, he said the nosels are probably done in
I've had new nosel tips fitted recently, and they seemed to help a little with power, but it still sounds louder than it should

The mech said there are 2 stages on the nosels, and if they are not operating correctly and the right pressures, it will cause the engine to run rough
Problem is, they are blinking expensive, so wanted a second opinion first

I'm in Nairobi and there is no where to service these, so looks like I need new ones unless I take them to the UK and find a place that can service the dual stage mechanical nosels

Any thoughts if he's correct?
And are these able to be repaired?

What is a nosel?

Nozzle I believe he meant.

OP I can only assume you have a diesel. If you had poor quality fuel or water in your fuel it can and will destroy nozzles. It is very very possible that you need new nozzles. But since you say there isn't anywhere to get your truck serviced you are kind of limited with options.

If you decide to service them yourself or even your tech... Cleanliness is paramount. We are talking operating room clean.

Ha, yeah nozzles makes much more sense!!!

Yes I have diesel, and crap fuel destroyed fuel pump and had to have new parts on that

He's saying we need new nozzles, instead of trying to repair/recalibrate.
Is there such thing as an exchange program?

I would be willing to put money on your injectors being pooched. If crap fuel went through and took out your pump your injectors are next in line.

I know that with my 12ht they sold replacement nozzles. But after that ( 1HDT and up ) the nozzles became much more difficult to change because of the 2 stage injectors. Someone please correct me if im wrong.

You may be hard pressed on this forum to find much info on diesel injectors as most of us are 2uzfe drivers. You may have better luck on a Australian forum.

Good luck!

If you want...... You can crate the engine up and send it to me in Canada....

Thanks man.

Actually it wasn't the whole fuel pump, it was the rotor head on the pump... Which was quite a Sizable heavy item!
There was scouring on the shaft and was causing the engine to rev on its own, and not drop the revs

It sounds like a bag of bones when running! So as I understand, there are nozzle tips, about 6cm long, and then the actual nozzles.... And then injectors?

Do I need new nozzels and injectors?

Check the Fan Bracket, as the bearing fails, it will sound "Clacky".

The main fan, yes- where the fan clutch is attached. Also, it holds the idler pulley.

Turns out its not the fan, mech said its the injectors..
They cost a fortune, so I'm don't want to drop a load of money on this unless I have too

Could after market nozzles cause the engine to sound rough?
