That was quite amusing.

Focus you f**k, very informative.

Thanks for the video. I have never had good luck with jump packs or electronic chargers myself. I'll stick to my homemade jump cables and my 1980's analog charger.

AvE is great. Humor mixed with information.

I have a jnc 660 jump starter works awesome actually holds a charge. HAs jumped off my duramax when I drained both batteries down

@mct75 have you used this setup to jump your vehicle? What do you use for a charger? I assume you could use other similar mini batteries as well?

I fly RC quadcopters, so I have a few lipo battery packs around. My biggest one is a 35C 3S 1500mAh (a 3-cell pack that is fully charged at 12.6 V and is rated to provide 105 amps for a short burst) I did use it to crank up the FJ80 in the driveway for fun, but it's probably not very healthy for a smaller pack like that. The one I linked above should be "good for" 144 amps in a short burst. That's 1800 watts!

I have a fancy charger, but they make cheap plug-and-play chargers for Lipos. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01HXPJOTC/

A "real" charger is not much more, and can be used to charge other batteries and also test their health.

Oh no, you can never use a lead acid battery charger on a lithium polymer battery. Lipo batteries are unlike just about any other battery in that they will continue to accept a charge until they explode violently. You have to use a charger designed for Lipos. I linked one above that is 13 dollars.

But you also said:
"A "real" charger is not much more, and can be used to charge other batteries and also test their health."

To what do you refer?

It's not really a battery maintainer, you have to tell it to start charging using the buttons on the unit. It's not a set-and-forget like a battery tender might be. It will charge the battery though. I normally connect mine to a 60 watt laptop power adapter and use that to charge my 12v lead acid battery. The 12v battery then can be used to power the charger to charge Lipos in the field.

Interesting info here. Correct me if I am wrong but watching the video I don't see any real electronic "safeguards" in the jump packs that could prevent damaging the vehicles electronics. I have heard of people using drill batteries as well to start their car in a pinch.
