I've read through the forum, but I want to be sure there's not something I'm missing here. I would greatly appreciate any input I can get. My (dash cluster) oil pressure gauge is reading nothing at all... at any temperature. Everything seems fine except the gauge in the instrument panel doesn't budge (maybe it's just the gauge itself). My first plan, given the fact that I have 130K miles on the OD, was to simply replace the related sending unit (though I can't seem to locate this item - is that different from the oil pressure switch?). Then I started thinking that the oil strainer might be clogged, or the oil pump failing. None of that makes much sense to me since the gauge is not just low but stuck at ZERO (and at any temperature). Thanks in advance for any help.

stealership broke mine a while back...while fixing something else under warranty

In my case, it was the wire attached to the clip that conects to the oil pressure sending unit.

I had to crawl under to ID the problem. Got a new wiring harness for that unit and another -- both on the same harness for fairly cheap and installed in aprox 15 minutes. Verify that this is the problem and call CDan for a replacement.

I found it a little disconcerting to drive around with a oil pressure guage that read zip...glad it's fixed :D

To locate the part (do you have a FSM?) you can trace the wiring harness on the passenger-side front wheel well inside the engine compartment. The wires are attached on the wheel well and travel toward the engine -- I recall there only being one set of wires headed that way...it shouldn't be too hard to identify them. Find where they're attached. The Oil Pressure sensor is the lower of the two connections. I found it easier to see the connections from underneath the engine.

Correct, but it is between "L" and the first mark at idle.
mine's the same. normal.

Thanks, Doug! Now I feel like a real A** I failed to plug that back in after disconnecting it to get it out of the way while installing my dual Optima system last week! Ahem. Oops. You're awesome. I'm sure we'll meet soon, fellow NorCaler.
