No More Timkin at Autozone

Few months ago I bought a KOYO master rebuild kit for the rear diff, and it had one of the bearings with Timkin stamped on it.

Did you not read what I wrote?

KOYO bought Timken's roller/needle bearing business. Timken roller/needle bearings are basically now designed and integrated into the KOYO brand. What you said above means: "damn, we ran out of bearing 90363-15004. Throw the Timken version in."

Go on Amazon, and buy the following (qty 2 because you need one for each side :

Timken JLM104948 qty 2 ($15.33 each)-- inner bearing
Timken JLM104910 qty 2 ( $3.99 each)-- inner bearing race
Timken SET47 qty 2 ($13.13 each) -- outer bearing and race.

Get QTY 4 if you need to rebuild the front and rear axle.

I don't think you can beat the amazon price.

They are very durable, so rarely need replacement.:meh: If you want to support a Cruiser supplier, www.cruiseroutfitters.com has the kit at a good price. For Timken; inner and outer bearings, races, seal, tab washer and gasket is $40.

I think you may have interpreted me wrong. When I got the rebuild kit with the Timkin in it, I knew they were up to Mr. T's specs. This is why it is a sad day in my world because I was able to get good bearings at Autozone for a good price.

I do admit I got a laugh out of how many Autozone haters came out of the woodwork when they could have been getting Mr. T quality bearings and seals if they just shopped around. Looks like Amazon is taking over another market with their "prime" free shipping.

Thanks Kevin!

We are quite proud of our axle kit/wheel bearing kit offerings, we've got every bearing/race loose, but the rear value is in a kit for with all the needed gaskets & seals, etc. We buy bearings by the pallet :D

I don't want to give a single cent to companies like autozone, they steal from their employees" time card!"

I'm happy to support companies like @cruiseroutfit even if I pay a little more. (which isn't always the case). When I was trying to figure out what to do with the brass bushing on my spindles, Kurt spent 20+ minutes on the phone with me walking me through the options. Autozone? Yeah right. Even my local toyota dealer can't address things like that, and half the time I'm lucky to get the right part at all, they have the best intentions, but not the time. I'm not lucky enough to have a Kurt or Beno or CDan here in my town, so working with people over the phone and ordering up is the next best thing. I've ordered stuff from all three, and can say that each offers great service. In a few more years, places like @cruiseroutfit are going to be the only ones supporting these rigs. We'll want them to still be in business.

I don't always order from a specialist, but when I do it's the important stuff.
