Do you have turn signals and back up lights still working?

Open up the back driver side panel and under the jack bracket there should be a large white plug see if its come lose.

i got turn signals and reverse lights, I will check and let you know ....I did get a little water in the reverse light from a crack, but i change the tail light assembly. ...

that plug is intact...any other ideas...the weirdest things ever ...

Don't just "check" the fuse; change it out.

Brake lamp circuit is pretty simple.
Are you seeing +12 at the brake lamp fuse?
Does the fuse check good with a meter (not eyeballs)?
Are you seeing +12 at the brake lamp switch?

Since you have all other lights and this effects both sides it is unlikely to be connectoritis, and since the tail lamps all use the same ground it is unlikely to be ground related.

Was everything working fine and then one day not? Were you installing a trailer harness? Were you inside any of the rear cargo panels?

I just replied to your PM but check the bulbs? Does it have trailer wiring spliced into the harness?

I had no break lights and it was the faulty trailer wiring, some one had hacked it into the stock harness and messed it all up. All I had to do was remove the trailer harness and replace the bulbs. I then had brake lights and my Cruiser control worked again.

Please clarify: are the tail lamps working or not, IOW is this only brake lamps or brake AND tail lamps?

the tail lights are working, but when the brakes are depressed the brake lights don't come on....at all....checked the trailer harness and didn't get any power to the it period...what else could it be...

thanks for all of your feedback...Linda has been down for a month....don't want any tickets...

do you have a trailer harness?
and what brand of stop lamp switch did you install?
you can always jumper the plug to the stop lamp switch as a diagnostic step.

the trailer harness was disconnected and I was not getting any power to it...is there a need for it ...I just want the brake lights to work, test the stop lamp switch and it was good with the tester.

The converter on the trailer harness may have died internally. Best bet if you take it out of the circuit to test.

Take out both bulbs, test the system, then install new bulbs one at a time.

You didn't answer my previous questions about +12 at the 10 amp STOP fuse in the fusebox by the driver's left knee, and +12 at the brake lamp switch. You didn't answer if you checked the fuses with a meter and not your eyeballs. Please note this is a different fuse from the TAIL fuse. 2 seperate circuits.

Like I said, this is a very simple circuit. From the fuse box through the switch through 2 connectors to 2 bulbs to ground.
Not rocket science here folks. You can guess all you want about bulbs and trailer harnesses and tire pressures. Jam a stick into between the brake pedal and the seat and have at it with a meter.

Connector ID2 pin2 in the driver's kick panel and connector BO1 pin3 in the driver's rear quarter panel. Both should be solid green wires. Ground from the bulbs are white/black stripe.

well I removed the harness, still no power gonna have to take it to the man....all the wires were reattached after removing the harness any ideas...
