ok, here's my situation. never had a single problem with air blowing out of the vents in the truck. yesterday, the truck was blowing warm air just fine. today, i start the truck after it snowed all night and nothing comes out of the vents. sliding the fan intensity slider to 1 kicks on the electric fan under the seat, but nothing comes out of the vents. sliding the slider to full blast does nothing. there's no sound like the blower is trying to work, it just doesn't work. any ideas on what i should look at to get my heat blowing again would be greatly appreciated.

Happened to mine as well, I was told by some fellow mudders that there is a cylinder lookin thing under the glovebox, by where the passengers feet would be, just smack it. Mine started right back up.
Good luck

haha, you guys are amazing. smacked the cylinder under the glove box with the palm of my hand a few times and sure enough, it started cranking again. you think this is a sign i need to think about replacing it, or is there probably just some gunk stuck in it?

There is probably gunk in it, from what I've been told smaking it only works for so long...:hillbilly:

Get a new one. the more times you use it as a switch, the shorter life it has.

Kinda sounds like the blower motor is junked up. New ones from CDan are less than $100, and since you use it a lot in the NW, not too big a deal.

But, it's easy to remove the existing motor. Three phillips screws drop the motor, plus you have to disconnect the wires (easy, very obvious). Once on the bench, it's easy to pop the cover off of the motor, and to clean it out. Maybe it helps, maybe not. But you are not out more than 30 minutes.

Worst case, you totally f-up the motor (unlikely) and I have a used one under my bench that's just taking up space.
