Not mine, tripped across it while looking around, if I were closer this would be a no-brainer. Think it books near $20K. May have to be quick on it, if its not already spoken for....

2005 Lexus LX470

Thanks for looking out! Us guys looking appreciate it. Unfortunately its a bit too far for me. Also being up there, wonder what the under carriage is like? Great price though. I'm sure it will go quick.

Maybe it's a scam?

In whitefish, I doubt its a scam, some rich person getting rid of an old truck. Its been in the valley a little while as its got an older dealer sticker on the back (GM/Honda prolly sold used after being traded on a new caddy or Loaded out Diesel) and the plate has the old style designation county code. Wish I was at home I would be all over this one for the wife.... Or at least go look it over for anyone here interested in it. Sadly I am not though. That said if its been run though a lot of winters up here, and steps taken to mitigated corrosion, or wash it out frequently, its likely pretty rusty under it, as the mag chloride we use on the main roads up here eats vehicles and sticks to everything.

I'm super interested in it and talking to the owner, he said there is one rust spot on the upper tailgate, not sure about underneath though. Said he would send some pics today. Is there anyone in that area that can check it out?

Wish it was closer, I would go take a look and a spin for you. Did you sell your Tacoma?

Think it books near $20K.

This looks like a fair if not good deal but $20K book, really? I recently had an '01 listed here, no rust and clean, with same miles. No takers at $12,5K. I know the 5-speed has value but what else does this four years bring in an LX? An '05 probably comes with Nav, right? No thanks to that.

Nope nope nope on that rust. Who said the book is near $20k? I just did KBB.com on it and in "Good" condition the "Sell to a Private Party" value is $13,810... Now these rigs rust free sometimes run 1-3k above KBB due to demand, but this is not rust free and from a cold climate. All that said I would say this rig is priced pretty accurately.

I too just sold my Tacoma to get into a LC/LX. I feel like its going to take awhile to find exactly what I want. Search continues...

Oh yea, mine came with brand new timing belt and August '15 manifolds, both sides, OEM. Just sayin' . . . I guess timing is everything!

but this is not rust free and from a cold climate

What's the downer with rigs from cold climate? If you're thinking rust, you might want to think twice. On the east side of the Divide here in Montana, for example, roads are not treated with any chemicals (and it gets plenty damn cold). Small gravel that wreaks havoc on windshields, yes, but rust, no. There are plenty of clean rigs cruising the Rocky Mountains, and conditions for which they were built. :) Don't limit your field of interest.

Yeah you are right, I worded that wrong. I have seen some pretty clean trucks in your area! I more so meant the mid west and north east. Although here is a MT rig with rust :) I'm looking nationwide for sure. Got to love it when I find something great here in socal only to check services records to find out it spent the last 11 years in New Jersey. I'm strictly looking 2003+ but your rig you had for sale might have changed my mind. Someone got a good deal.

Stick with what you really want. You'll find it. Good luck all ye searchers! After its new owner pays for the LX waiting in our garage, I will be searching for a new ride, too. There will be no replacing that rig.

I thought it was close to $20K book, NADA has clean trade-in at $17,300 and retail at $19,800. Those are the 2 values "most" banks use when doling out a loan, bank depending of course. Guess I am programmed for that instead of KBB. Lo-res Craigs pics dont show rust, nor was rust mentioned in the FS ad, so that wasnt taken into account when I posted the find.

I dont ever judge any vehicle from the Western US, from top-to-bottom, side-to-side, as being a potential rust bucket before I examine it. I have bought vehicles from outside Denver, outside Boise, Seattle and Pismo Beach CA. 2 next to the ocean, and 2 way up in the mountains. Not a single one of them had a speck of rust. And the one from Pismo was a 45-year old classic. If you want to cast aspersions toward Chicago, or Boston, or Buffalo so be it. But I never judge a vehicle from out west until I fully examine it. You may miss a creampuff if you do, IMO.
