I'm refurbishing three FJ60 distributors and will be installing one of two different advancers, depending on which one the buyer selects. One advancer has a vacuum advance curve almost identical to the primary advance of the '81 through '87 2F distributors, the other has an advance curve almost identical to the advance of the '77 2F distributors. Both types of advancer are brand new NipponDenso advancers. These are intended for installation in '81 to '87 2F engines where high altitude compensation (HAC) isn't needed - vehicles that rarely see higher altitudes or vehicles that rarely see lower altitudes (where base timing can be set for altitude), or for installation in F engines and older 2F engines without HAC.

The distributors will be refurbished using new OEM distributor caps, rotors, and distributor cap dust-proof packing (O-rings), and new generic metric shaft O-rings. The breaker plates will be cleaned and inspected and the races, ball bearings, and clips will be replaced if needed.

Stupid question, but what would either of the distributors get me compared to the stock distributor on my '86 FJ60 with the original 2F motor? Is this different/better than a re-curved distributor for my motor?

It gives you a viable alternative to replacing the stock advancer if it has failed, which is not uncommon. New Toyota advancers are no longer available and good used advancers are getting harder and harder to find. The last four FJ60 distributors I bought all had bad advancers - the primary diaphragms were all bad. The first advancer I mentioned has almost the exact vacuum advance curve as the primary diaphragm on the stock advancer.

BTW, you don't need a recurve if your FJ60 still has the emissions.

My refurbished distributors include replacing the mechanical advance stop pin bushing, and cleaning/refurbishing the rotating breaker plate, as I mentioned above.

I can sell the advancers by themselves, they're pretty much a straight replacement. They're posted here:

UPDATE:

I now have nine available, and can provide two more alternatives - a points distributor with condenser for those Land Cruisers without an igniter, and a points distributor without condenser for those with an igniter. The primary advantage to those two alternatives is the sealed distributor shaft bearing, not found in pre-'81 distributors. More details on the points alternatives here:

TTT - I've recently increased my inventory of FJ60 distributors available for refurbishment, one is almost ready to go out the door and I've started to refurbish another. In addition to quite a few new NipponDenso single diaphragm advancers, I may have a few good used dual diaphragm advancers with HAC.

You would not have only the diaphragms for sale, you have some photos to corroborate with my distributor.
 
I have new single diaphragm advancers and two used dual diaphragm advancers - the dual diaphragm advancers have high altitude compensation. What vehicle and engine do you have? Does your vehicle have the high altitude compensation system? I'm not sure if non-US Land Cruisers had high altitude compensation.

A photo of your distributor would help me figure out what type of advancer you need.
 
My FJ40 is spec USA, I will attach photos from my distributor

The two used dual diaphragm advancers I have are from FJ60 distributors - they have different main diaphragm vacuum advance curves than the 2/79 through 8/80 2F advancers. The main advance curve may be close enough for your application, it's a steeper curve so it takes less vacuum to give you the same amount of advance. I'll post a plot comparing the two advance curves later this afternoon.

I'd have to modify the actuator rod and add a sleeve to the advancer body - the FJ60 advancer has a 15mm OD but the bore in your distributor housing is 17mm. I've done this already and have the materials on hand.

Question can I change the complete distributor. another question that means re curve the dizzy.
If I do not have a double advance as a compensation for my step when I travel to elevations of more than 4000 ft.
 
It looks like you're missing most, if not all, of the emissions and high altitude compensation system components, so it might be difficult to put together what you need. You might be better off by adjusting your base ignition timing to give it more advance before you drive to higher elevations, then adjusting it back when you get to lower elevations.

Do both of the advancer diaphragms work and hold vacuum? If they do, there's another option. You could install a tee in the vacuum hose near the advancer, along with a short section of vacuum hose, long enough to reach the outer nipple on the advancer. At lower elevations you would plug the open end of the short hose section and cap the outer nipple. At higher elevations you would remove the plug and cap, and connect the short hose from the tee to the outer nipple. Then re-do the vacuum hose/plug/cap when you get back to lower elevation.
