Went to NTB looking to pick up a set of 285 75 16 Nitto Terra Grapplers and while I was there I kept eying the BFG All Terrains. The sales guy had personally owned both and said that the tread on the ATs seems to last a lot longer. I was 90% set on the TGs when out of the corner of my eye I saw two ATs with used sale stickers on them. They had been used for a couple of days and still had the little rubber knobbies on them. Price was about $75 per tire cheaper than new. One look at the tire size and I was all in. Got two new and two barely used tires installed and out the door for $850.

I must be partially deaf or something b/c I don't know what people are talking about when they say these are a little louder on the road. I couldn't tell any difference. Only change I see is about a 5% loss of grunt accelerating from a stop light. Ride height is also noticeably higher. I think for my application these are about the ideal size. They are meaty and fill out the wells quite nicely.

Here are some pics for reference. This is a stock 02 with the torsion bars adjusted so that the front is up about an inch. the PO had installed Monroe Reflex shocks so I am not sure if that affected the stock ride height. The stinkbug appearance is due to the slope of the parking lot.

Next comes ordering some WK sliders and installing the TJM T15 steel bumper...

Looks awesome. Those should last you quite awile.

Nice to know you and nick found that bumper that I told you about!:)

Nice, always on the top of my list. Tires are probably next for me just puy OME lift on makes the stock size not look proportionate (sp?). BFG's. Duratrac's, Hankook's, AT's or MT's lots of possibilities.

Yeah dude, thanks!... The Aussie spec'd TJM T15 (steel) is paid for and waiting for me in Cleveland TN. I still need bumper ends, turn signals (Slee?), and the winch mounting bracket. Also getting a quote from up there for having it powder coated in black. I need to start a build thread.

Are you looking for bumper mounted turn signals? If so, you should ask BIOR who his supplier is, I think Brock has them on his truck!

Call that place in florida for the winch plate! I think it's in miami, find them on the TJM site

I made a template request letter with pics attached and emailed it to 10 different places in Australia, 5 places in the US and 1 in Europe. I can't find a URL or email address for the old TJM supplier in Miami. They might not be around anymore??? Christo told me he had the turn signals.

...aren't those some nice tires?

Looks Good!

Dude - no way you got the TJM T15 off Ebay? I was watching that bumper for a couple days and came soooo close to buying it. I couldn't believe I randomly found it on ebay... I even emailed him earlier today to ask if it was still available. What a small community the 100 crowd is... What a bargain at $475....:flipoff2::flipoff2::flipoff2:

I heard about it from Nick who heard about it from Leo. I PMd Vol and sent him an email that night. Next day I did a search for TJM on eBay an lo and behold there it was...I was too worried that someone would jump on it before Vol responded via Mud and/or email so I hit the buy button. I might head up to Cleveland TN this weekend to take a look at it. If not, we are working on sourcing parts and painting, repairs and the like. I can't wait to get it on the truck.

I need to start a thread on it.

TJM said they are coming back to the USA....

Thought I would get back to the original topic for just a second... I have owned many sets of BFG ATs and my newest Lexus came from the po with Terra Crapplers. I have to say that I am super underimpressed with the Nittos. They are not a BAD tire, but I have yet to see a single circumstance where they out shine the BFGs. The BFGs are FAR better in snow, however if you care about such things, I think the Nittos might be about 5% quieter...
