I had a friend buy a set of gears from nitro two months ago and they never showed up. He sent them a email and got this in return. Kinda nutty.
It’s probably a good idea to hold off on buying from them until the business settles.

More info: The parent company DPI is closing its doors. They own daystar and tuff country. There are buyers lined up for both of those companies. The bank is auctioning off of nitros current stock and they’re done done

Again, Nitro gears has been on my do not buy list for years.
Nitro SUCKS

I’m really surprised that Kurt even sells them.

We pick and choose which of their items we sell/install and stand behind those we do. No different from many brands including Genuine Toyota stuff that isn't worth installing. Nitro does/did offer many unique offerings not serviced by Revolution, WCD, Yukon, etc (all brands we stock fwiw). DPI buying Nitro was NOT great for the brand, dealers or the community. But again, we've had phenomenal luck with many of their products including specific gear sets. I suspect we've sold/installed 1000+ of those skus with warranty rates on part with other brands.

Oops! You weren’t supposed to see that, Kurt. I was just joking. I’m totally happy with my Nitro gears (maybe 4yrs old) and was comfortable with my decision of the product at the time. They’ve served me well as did Cruiser Outfitters. No worries!! Thanks again!

FWIW I had Nitro front axles in my 73 Crawler on 40 stickies , zero complaints of them . I still have a nib rear 80 set from them also but those have not so great reviews

Those 80 rears are best left in the box !

Zuk recommended and setup Nitro gears in mine. His word is good a gold with me. He also has a few tricks up his sleeve though. For instance, using new Toyota pinion bearing instead of the one Nitro sends:

Now Nitro axles.. THEY SUCK!! Big time.

I know in there conception they were a good company and a lot of you guys got your gears years ago.

If Kurt & Zuk still recommend the gears then they must be good.

Personally I twisted up there axles in just a couple of runs and they would not stand behind there warranty. And there customer service was terrible.

I put the OEM axles back in ran them on 37s with out issues, then went to 39s and ran them on OEM axles a season with out issue. now there my spares and I run RCVs

Nitro lack of customer service and not honoring there warranty is enough that I will never buy another one of there products.

In contrast I snapped 10 year old front RCVs axles and with one email with one picture I had a brand new full set on my door step in less then a week no questions asked at zero cost to me shipping included.
That standing behind your product & warranty with great customer service.
That's the kind of company that gets my hard earned dollars !

Good riddance to whoever has been running that pos company. Maybe the new owners will realize the previous owners mistake and correct their sop's into the future? Ha Ha ... not likely. More probability of a wash, rinse repeat scenario and we'll all be saying the same things 10 years or so from now. Oh I guess the speed of things these days is accelerating, maybe 5 years is more realistic. Very difficult these days to get almost any company to stand by their products and services the way they have in the past, let alone answer the phone. I feel bad for future generations. Whatever happened to accountability? I guess that went out the window with the work ethic we used to have. Rant off.
I am entitled to it though. I wasted enough money on products nitro sold me that turned out to be garbage.

Couldn't have happen to a better group. I stopped buying from them or even installing them after DPI took over the show. I never did get my refund from DPI right after they bought out Just diffs for the gears they sent that weren't even heat treated or the 3 snapped off axles. I'm not shocked hearing this at all.

I am very glad to hear this is the end, but its very sad that a once good company died this way. DPI absolutely SUCKS, glad it caught up with them.
