Does this not make anyone else feel uneasy? I am interested nonetheless.

This is not my rig, nor do I know who is selling it. I've bought vehicles in the past off of ebay as well as sold them and never had any issues. I'm looking for an fj40 and saw this newly listed, it looks like an awesome deal for someone, just not me.

My only concern would be that the guy selling it only has a feedback of 1, but his answers seem to be pretty straight forward and honest. If you bought it through ebay and paid with paypal you would be protected, so kind of takes out some of the worry.

So I'm unsure why someone would fee uneasy about it, thousands of vehicles sell everyday on ebay with no issues. Besides if someone was going to scam why would they post a rig that they are only going to get 2500 out of? lol. They'd post a sweet ride and shoot for the stars.

JwolfK,
It appears that you signed up for an account on Mud and immediately posted a link to a for sale ad on eBay that you say you have no relation to. Why would you take all the trouble just to post someone else's ad?

Frankly, your entire reply is filled with bad reasoning and bad guidance.

Anyone else want to weigh in? I would love to buy this vehicle but JwolfK is scaring me and I am too new to 55's to know if this price is too good to be true.

william,

I signed up for ihmud because I'm looking to buy an FJ40 and this is a good place to find one or get some guidance on it. During the process of looking I came across a nice looking deal that I did not want, no trouble copy and pasting a link to this site that I am also looking on. But hey, the world is fille with conspiracist theorists, I'm sometimes one of them.

With the paypal/ebay buyer's protection, I'm not sure how you think you or anyone else could get rooked. But maybe the vehicle is a POS, and the guy is lying about that....I don't know, at this point I'm kind of sorry I took the little bit of time to copy and paste something to a site where people have some similar intersests to mine and thought someone might appreciate it if they were looking. Looking for a vehicle can be a real bitch.

But happy holidays and best of luck.

seen this rig

I drove and inspected this pig and it is loaded with potential, but it needs some love. The rig runs and drives buts seems tired. No dash cables or wiring for climate, defrost, etc. hooked up. Nice rear seat interior, rear window motor rebuilt, but did not work. Could be a great cruiser project for someone to finish. Body work was done on floor by a college shop and is functional, but ugly. Just needs to be finished.

Great guy selling it, project vechicle for him, honest, in over his head with a pig. This pig is real and a running project.

It isn't that great in person. I've looked at it a couple of times. Lots of work done to it but a lot of it was done poorly. Lots more work to do. It could be a good basher but it would probably never be something worth rebuilding as it is too far gone.

Wasn't the first time reason enough to pass?

I've never seen it in person, but have enough sense to realize that 99.99% of ALL Landcruisers in that price range are going to need work.

It was advertised differently and it has been for sale for 3 years.

This is a project truck that was started poorly and without much of a base. It would make a great trail truck and that is about it.

I just hope someone buys it to fix those tail lights!
