I was driving to see a client yesterday - heading down I385 southbound near Fountain Inn when I saw a lifted, shiny blue 40 with a hardtop off to the left (east) in a big Golf Cart store parking lot. Does anyone know who this is?

I think it is the owner of the golf cart place. If it's the one I'm thinking about he ususally keeps it in the building. He and his brothers have had 40s and older restored Jeeps.

There is also one parked on main street SVL. Multi color:) hard top.

Cannot tell you how many people that have told me if I have ever talked to the guy who owns the black one in Simpsonville. Lol. It took me a while to put two and two together.

Looking forward to seeing that cruiser.

What's the history on that 40. Where did it come from?

There will plenty of viewing the black one this weekend. :steer:

The one on main street is near Danny's garage, right beside the clock tower. It has been there for about a week. I stopped and looked at it yesterday. Inside is clean, outside well... Not sure of the age, stick on the column...what years would that be?

I've talked to the brother of the guy with the blue one a few years ago but never saw it until recently. Sounds like another good reason to go cruisin this weekend. Cruiser hunt.

This weekend? I don't think we have anythig planned this weekend. Unless your planning on coming over and helping me cut out some metal and replace it on the 40 Sunday.

Next weekend will be the HAMON at my warehouse. Have about 30,000 sqft of open space to park and work on cruisers. Should also have hotdogs to feast on.

Only reason I asked about your cruiser is I used to have a black 74 back about 15 years ago and have been searching ever since.

mine came out of Charlotte. PO bought it from a fraternity brother of his then. That should have been '94ish. I've known it since then and at one point it was dark gray. Signs show that the hood at one point may have been baby blue and there are definitely hints of red panels as well.

Marshall, I know where there is a black '77 for sale. I don't like it, but you could fix it up i'm sure. Guy is in my neighborhood, it has some kind of suspension lift and 35's on ugly wheels, with a 350 SBC swap, and the wiring has been a piatch, he has had it in the shop due to that several times. Body is straight, has a safari roof rack full roll cage etc... I know his wife is nagging him to get rid of it, and I think this last breakdown was the straw that broke the camel's back. Don't know about pricing but I can look into it for ya if interested.... Just let me know

The black one came out of charlotte huh? Was it corbetts cruiser? I think he bought it from a guy named Marcus Vinroot. If I remember correctly it has an auto tranny and 350 right?

That is correct. I've known Corbitt since we were 8 and he bought it from Vinroot while we were at NCSU. It has an AMC 360 and 3 spd.

I was at the 07-08 annual mtg.

Nearly ended up as a parts rig yesterday and I the owner of a brand new F150. Light barely yellow and the F150 locked it up. I locked the drums and heard the singing of BFGs. I yanked the manual steering to the right and ended up door to door with him. Needless to say I had no part in saving all of us (me & 2 of my kids) from a nasty mess. Big Guy had the wheel!!! My brushguard is buffalo certified and I would have plowed the F150. Got me thinking a brake and steering update is in the near future. :princess: thinks I should let you guys have it and beef up the FJC.

nice. I used to drool over that 40 when I was NCSU too. I had a 60 and an 80 while I was there. Good stuff. I had lots of buddies in Sigma Chi.
