Inspired by this thread, I switched over to a Tuffy with a single DIN head unit, and replaced the Double DIN with a switch panel.

Awesome install @etarasoff Quick question, will a Nalgene bottle fit in that cup holder?
Good enough. Thanks for the response. It can handle a pretty big cup but to be honest I don't know as I've never tried.
- You'll want something to provide charging to the charging end of the OTG Y cable. You could theoretically just use the USB powered hub, but it's better to go with something that outputs more amps to allow for fast-charging. I used Amazon product ASIN B00I3P6QQGView attachment 1040706
- I also used this DCDC converter (just operating in 12V regulated mode) since it has an ignition source option for auto installations. There are probably cheaper ways to go, but this was a nice piece:
Amazon product ASIN B005TX3M1MAmazon.com: DCDC-USB, Intelligent DC-DC converter with USB interface; Convert any Voltage (6-34VDC) into ANY Voltage (5-24VDC) from your Computer under USB control. High current, up to 10A; Driver and example programs available: Electronics

You're better today just using an Android based double din unit. Lots of them have larger screens and even the Chinese ones have pretty decent quality, scanner integration, etc.Using an Andoird based tablet is a great idea, but what about start-up time?
I'm guessing the tablet isn't on all the time and cold start-up takes longer than just a simple double-din radio.
