So going to replace with identical tires? They seem to have served you well

Holy electrics!! Times, they are a changin'...

So here on MUD there is an advertisement from WARN for an app to wirelessly run your winch controller with
your phone! I'm sorry, but of all the sad f'n excuses to use a phone, running a winch isn't one of them.
OMG, what will they think of next for a phone

A "Shwart"! Mutation of Shart + Sweat!

I went to Lordco and Ladysmith Auto Today. It would seem that Raybestows no longer makes the drums for the land cruisers. So unless somebody has another source I would not throw out old drums anymore

I’ve got a set of front 45 drums, cylinders, and backing plates in the parts pile if anyone needs them. Let me know if you want them and we’ll figure it out.

He means the 60 series rears, suspect they're different.

Rock auto still lists one brand as having them but I doubt that'll last.

Last time I got a front caliper from Lordco for a cruiser they told me there were only a few new ones left, after that reman only.

Our junk is getting old. :meh:

I’m aware… but I would imagine if 60 drums are short in supply, that 45 are close to nonexistent.

The mind is a funny thing, I don’t think of my 40 as being that old… they were plentiful when I bought it.

Then I realize it’s 47 and there aren’t as many left around 30 years later.

Hopefully before 2040, I’ll be able to retire to the farm and live off grid. Solar & Electric would be the way to go... with almost no reliance on oil companies.
That's my goal. I'm looking hard at retiring in Belize. I'm not a big fan of where we are going in Canada and the debt we are piling on my kids makes me wonder if they have a future here. I'd like to immigrate to the 1950's when the world made sense but Belize is a close second.

Even if they just made the parts that always rust like all 4 doors, fenders, front bib, windshield frame, hardtop sides, hardtop gutter rail, rear tub and frames.. :hmm:

I’ll list the body parts I wouldn’t like, it’ll be easier;

Hardtop, hood,,, there must be something else…

Nope, that’s it

It’d be worth spending money to do a full body restore using OEM parts. I hope it’s not too expensive for a frugal cruiser owner like me. I wouldn’t want to spend a mint on it… I’d be afraid to use it as intended.

Won’t be cheeper than aftermarket.

A oil pan from Toyota for my motor is 480$ Can’t imagine how much body parts could cost! I’m sure they would only consider doing a run of old production parts to make money not for the love of old classics.
