Nearing its 40th year of production, the Toyota Land Cruiser J70 is getting a new engine.
Displacing 2.8 liters, the four-cylinder turbodiesel takes its place alongside the existing 4.5-liter V8 turbodiesel.
It is the first four-cylinder variant of the 70 Series Land Cruiser since a pair of 2.4-liter gasoline and diesel motors in the 1991 model year.

I've been seeing that news around, but apparently Toyota had denied it as actually happening. Would have been cool though.

Second carbon tax to take effect on July 1, 2023. The regulations will require producers to reduce the carbon content of their fuels. If they can't meet those requirements, they'll have to pay the second carbon tax. (If you don’t know, you can’t reduce carbon content of fuel)

The second carbon tax is in addition to the current carbon tax. There are no rebates with the second carbon tax.

I'm so happy that all these taxes are helping solve climate change.

Sure looks like a poor mans copy of a Ferrari 458 to me. That design might have lawyers calling up.
Get well soon, Kids = Stage 1 plague carriers. My friend in Vancouver just got over it, his wife works at school board.

I'd been toying with the idea of building a silly little car , but it'd be between an old sprite/tr3 type thing or Caterham if I had any money.

That looks slick but the thing that stopped me over all the old 70 Japanese cars is the claustrophobic little sweat box factor...

There's another cool looking one where you basically buy a Chevy Cobalt and put it's guts into a tube frame. Goblin I think it's called?

Decided to just tinker with the junk I have for now tho. Not like I'm lacking in projects 🤣😔

"The estimated price for the halo version of our kit car is $300,000 CAD. ($222,000 USD)"
I'm not sure what the definition of "halo version" is... but that figure sure makes me feel poor. $300k is way out of my budget for a car... even the $45k that their options add up too is out my budget.

Options

Chassis DOM Steel - Six part space frame with aluminum panels
$12,049 CAD
Anti Sway Bar System
$2,000 CAD
Roller - Control arms, tie rods, steering rack, dummy wheels.
$4,000 CAD
Body Panels - Fiberglass and ABS
$14,000 CAD
Windshield - front DOT glass, fiberglass frame and lexan rear.
$5,500 CAD
Electrical System - dash, controls, wiring, sensors, lights, horn, wipers, heater, and more.
$7,900 CAD

I'd estimate it'd add up to $60k in no time.

The Spanish Flue got it start in Europe and when WWI was over, all the US military veterans came to fort Riley Kansas for out processing from the war. The Spanish flue was well under way in Europe and when they came to the fort, it became a super spreader event. So yes, just like c19, Quarantine was required. Oh and the Bubonic Plaqe killed half the population of Europe.
Did those quarantine efforts stop the Spanish flu?

That's why that goblin thing is interesting. Still probably more than I'd ever spend, but I think it's a lot less than that.. I don't know why they picked the Chevy Cobalt as the donor ??
