"The estimated price for the halo version of our kit car is $300,000 CAD. ($222,000 USD)"
I'm not sure what the definition of "halo version" is... but that figure sure makes me feel poor. $300k is way out of my budget for a car... even the $45k that their options add up too is out my budget.

Options

Chassis DOM Steel - Six part space frame with aluminum panels
$12,049 CAD
Anti Sway Bar System
$2,000 CAD
Roller - Control arms, tie rods, steering rack, dummy wheels.
$4,000 CAD
Body Panels - Fiberglass and ABS
$14,000 CAD
Windshield - front DOT glass, fiberglass frame and lexan rear.
$5,500 CAD
Electrical System - dash, controls, wiring, sensors, lights, horn, wipers, heater, and more.
$7,900 CAD

I'd estimate it'd add up to $60k in no time.

I didn't look to close at all the pricing. Just thought it was cool something like this was happening in Victoria. Their proto is certified, so they're well on their way.

I always liked the 'Radical' kit car. But I'm sure things would add up too getting it from the UK.

Probably retirement project if anything. By that age the G forces will knock me out, lol.

That's why that goblin thing is interesting. Still probably more than I'd ever spend, but I think it's a lot less than that.. I don't know why they picked the Chevy Cobalt as the donor ??

That is really pretty cool actually. Had never heard of those until you mentioned it. Way more attainable than the cars I drool over, but probably ridiculous fun and fast with the open wheel design. Along lines of Lotus Super 7 etc. I like it!

Chev cobalt is probably just prolific and cheap donor; why not!

Oh My. Not news anymore, but this gets the heart pumping. One of those DF Goblin kit cars. Love the plain color on this one compared to the 'RZR' looking color schemes they show on their website.

Yeah that scoots along eh?

I had a look at the classifieds on the site, 15-25k us for some completed ones.

I'm sure there's a few unfinished ones out there for a lot less.

Wonder what ICBC thinks about them🙄

This one sounds nuts...362hp in that little thing? Jeebus.

Funny you show that. Caught this s*** from my kids!
Maybe this could help

Funny I always thought a baby shield was a condom.

I’m sure ICBC would love them ;)

The way ICBC is going they’d write them off if you crack a taillight. I’m starting to suspect they have an agenda to get all gas powered vehicles off the road… but that’s just nuts… right?

Geebuz! Basically a four wheel crotch rocket. 362hp is measured at the wheels. Thing has nearly 1hp to 3lbs! Cruiser has 1hp to 60lbs, haha.

Haha, death trap is putting it mildly. I can't even imagine what that's like. I rode in a sandrail once with nitrous and that was scary enough, but it was just a bug engine, so nowhere near 360hp

Apparently a few have been imported to ontario, so I'd think it's just a matter of time before one is here.

If only on that rich guy race track in cowichan

This fire stuff is pretty depressing actually.

3.3 million hectres have burned in Canada this year already. We still have 3-4 months of fire season to go.

FYI, Canada has 362 million hectres of forest total. That means nearly 1% of Canada's forests have burned in the last 1.5 months.

At this rate, we'll burn 10-12 million hectres this year total. 3% of Canada's forests.

:(

It is depressing. I know a lot of it's happened before, and a lot of species actually need fire to sprout, but it sucks seeing it happen.

When the cause is listed as "human" is what really pisses me off. And then you see people swearing at parks people when they're told they can't have a campfire. Just how ****ing stupid are you?

My uncle lives in Caycuse and is on the volunteer fire department (because he lives in that forest). He’ll spot a fire across the lake and go talk to the campers. They’ll be sitting under the No Fires sign and claim they didn’t know. He’ll watch them put it out and he’ll leave. Then he’ll watch across the lake as they build a new camp fire… it’s maddening how stupid people are.

That's the thing. You can excuse stupid, but willful ignorance is a choice.

Some dickhead overheard that my wife is in aquaculture, and started going at her about closures and regulations etc etc, all while being so wrong that even I could tell.

She managed to tell him to go educate himself without specifically saying the words, and I think he actually got the point.
It was impressive 🤣.

We could use that on a few other subjects

I thought she was agreeing with me!
