Hi everyone,

Just picked my first land Cruiser yesterday. Took quite a journey to get it. All the way from Nitinaht Lake on the west coast, to Hope near Chilliwack. Had a fun time getting there, buying it from an older gentleman, staying with him and his wife, learning about all the ins and outs from him and then coming home!

About the LC: It's an 83 BJ60 with 238,000kms on it. It's brown, and the body is in good shape. The frame is solid, but starting to show some rust which I think I'm going to have to spend some time and money on before the snow flies out here. The engine is solid. It feels amazing to drive. The only other LC I drove was an 85 HJ60 which had low compression. This feels amazing comparitively.

The drive home was great. Betsy as she's called cruised on the highway and cruised on the 63km of logging road back home.

If there are others in the area I'd love to hear from you.

I'm a very happy new owner!

Go and meet John at Radd Cruisers in Duncan, B.C. Can't be too far from you. He's about to become your bestest friend...

Mind if I ask how much you got it for? I am looking to get my first Cruiser too. Also, how did you find it?

Congrats on one of the best purchases of your life!!! And you got a good logging road run in getting it... Did you come out the nitnat- cowichan road (how was it?????????)? Or out via Port? I have a friend in Bamfield and that is really great country, 60's are the best vehicles for those roads, IMHO!!
Cheers
Ross
