Just purchased a 69 FJ40, had it going on 1 month. I love the FJ40 so far but I a, stump trying to identify key switch on dash. By the owners manual it is in the position of the front drive indicator light. I have searched the forum and Google but have not had any luck yet. Photo is attached. Thanks in advance.

I think this could be some sort of alarm. I have one in my gas fill door. The wires on mine have been cut. Pretty sure it was for the alarm.

Thanks for replying. My FJ40 does not have an alarm but gives be an idea. I want to install a kill switch if I could find a ket to fit this I might be able to rig this to be the kill switch. Thanks again.

Looks to be the same style as my locking hitch pin. HTH

Looks like there's a gun safe there somewhere. Same lock my gun safe has.

I was going to say it looks like a vending machine lock. Anybody know if there is any truth to the rumor that you can open this type of lock with the tube from a Bic pen? (I can't be the only person here with a somewhat devious past.)

Looks like it may have been some type of kill key. Good Luck.
