Hey guys, I've been silent surfer on the forums for quite sometime and finally registered since I bought my '80. Sold my 2nd Gen 4runner which I loved so dearly to get an FJ80.
My name is Sadiq Chaudhri and I'm a full-time undergrad. student at the University of Kansas. I'm also in the OCS Program for the Marine Corps.
I bought my '97 LX450 about 3 weeks ago in Texas, it's stock w/ lockers. So far the plans are pretty basic...I want to baseline all the fluids, take off the running boards, OME lift kit, and some 35" BFGs mounted on the stock rims.

Here are some of pics of my old 'runner which I loved but it was time for a change, she had 220k miles and ran like a champ.

I recently took my new LX for a roadtrip to California and here are a couple of quick pictures I snapped along the way. I'll have more pics of the rig later.

Welcome Sadiq, nice rig!

I'll bet your wallet is smokin after paying for gas on that road trip!

Nice rigs! I had a 2nd gen 4runner as well before buying my 80 series.

Don't forget sliders for the rig if you plan on wheeling it.

Dude you have no idea, it was expensive but it was worth having my rig w/ me in California. I most of the time I was getting about 15mpg except through the mountains.

Yep, I averaged 15.2 MPG both ways on a recent trip to Hays. Not bad considering I've got 33's on it. I'm sure I'm going to see quite the drop-off when I get it lifted and armored.
