Hi there , after reading this great forum for several months I thought I would finally introduce myself. I made a quick visit at cruiser days with my 88hj61 (no lockers ) but had to leave after an hour to catch a ferry to langdale . Lots of great cruisers there. Anyway I plan on importing a jdm 81 series from japan in the near future and the first thing I plan to do are the Beb's. Are there any suppliers in the vancouver area or am I best to order from OZ ? Also I remember reading somewhere the ACL bearings are one size fits all; is this correct? If so could I order bearings without waiting to pull the oil pan and see what sizes are inside .

depends on the km, i would go ahead and order them...
you can always sell them if you don't need them...

They are cheap ,$46 AUD for ACL and ask 1st for Federal Mogul for a complete set of beb 1HZ and 1 HD T FTE

There are other places in oz that sell the full rebuild kit with pistons ,bearings ,rings and gaskets for about $1180 AUD 1HZ and $1400 for the 1HD T

I would do them as standard course. It seems the ACL's work well, and the ones we have had done have all plasti-guaged in spec. We did one HZ with the factory bearings from Ens, and it does add time as you have to pull and check the "mark", then order them. ACL's are a different composition too...

Thanks for the input , when I find a truck and have it on the boat over I will order the ACL's and and check with plastigauge.
