Wanted Newbe looking at a 62 what do you think?

I am in the market for a 62 and I found this one on ebay and it's close to me. What do you guys think and what would you say its worth? I'm going to try and meet the guy to look at it and needed to know if I need to look for, any common problems?

There are several for sale in Bham as well if you are, as you handle indicates, a 'bama boy'.

I noticed the FJ62 you are looking at may have some rust on the undercarriage. The 60s/62s seem to be more prone to corrosion than other FJs, so be careful with that. Normally the Southeast is a good place to look, but be watchful around the coast. Also find out if the head gasket has been replaced. That's a grand right there in necessary maintenance.

I saw the red on the frame an I thought it might be red dirt. We have a lot of that here and it sticks to everything. I talked to the guy and I am going to take a look and I'll ask him about the head gasket. He's asking 5 on cl do you think it's worth that or should I try and talk him down?

make sure to watch the auction. if his reserve is 5k and it doesn't get up there, he has a chance to contact the person with the highest bid. at this point, its around $3700, so if it doesn't go any higher, and he doenst take the highest offer, id start off with $3700.
Its a really good looking cruiser as long as that is just some nice red clay and not rust on the frame, but you shouldn't pay 5 for it.
